*A man of average build sits down at an old wooden table*Now that all hell has broken loose, what is the legal drinking age? *A tall man wearing a fedora sets a frosty glass bottle of Coca Cola on the table* Nice try kid, some of the patrons are police officers, and there are one or two that pretend to be cops too. *I take a sip from my Coke, ahhh that's refreshing!* If anyone want's to join me I need a scavenging party to help me some lumber from some of the outlying areas. We already have the tools needed for building shelters. @Akerris, how many shelter houses do we need to build, I was thinking building something similar to a series of sheds, they are easy to construct, and can be built in large quantities over a short amount of time. Scouting/Scavenging Roster Name: Specialty: Gear: Vehicles: Everyone in the scouting/scavenging party should have at least one primary firearm (rifle or shotgun), and one sidearm. You can carry what you think you may need. We are going to need at least one pickup truck to carry lumber for piers, beams, bracing boards, and boards for walls, roof, and floor. "*A man of average build sits down at an old wooden table*Our numbers are around 100 and growing. You'll need several vehicles, preferably one driver, and two gunners/loaders per vehicle. At the moment take what you can. You'll probably have to make several trips to lumber yards and the like. My recommendation for now is to make simple gazebo canopies with tarps for walls until supplies are plenty enough to make the shelters more permanent. Remember, we have humid hot summers and cool to cold winters. Please direct your volunteers to this page. http://www.zombiesurvivalwiki.com/thread/3908213/Scavanging+mission(s) Do you find this valuable? |

"Scouting/Scavenging RosterCarson (LOVE that name!) Scouting, hunting, B&E. See the original beacon thread. No vehicles. I can function as an outrider and scout ahead before we enter an area. I know the area and can get around it faster than a whole group. Do you find this valuable? |

"If they're willing to fight and die" Not if they're gonna die anyway if they don't :D Do you find this valuable? |

A man wearing navy camo walked in the bar and sat down next to Akerris"Ok boss im done with my scouting mission, i found an abandoned construction site with a bunch of pipe we could probably use for irrigation or as an aqueduct to bring water from one of the nearby rivers to the camp, in the future we could probably build a cistern to store it for later distribution. Also grabbed a CB radio and a HAM radio from an electronics hobby shop in town. I recommend we send a full scavenging party there, that place is gold. Marked all the locations on the map." I didnt smell any gas at the time , maybe it ran out. But in anycase theres a bunch of stuff i could use there to get the towns communications up and running. if i can get enough CB's working, then we can have comm's with our check points and watchposts once we get them built

a man wearing a set of dirty cover-alls and backward redsox cap sitting near akerris turns to the gentleman wearing the navy camo. "That does sound like a gold mine friend, I am Ron, I've pitched as the Water, and sanitation, and general infrastructure guy around here. We are definitely going to need to work on additional water resources and an aqueduct and from the river a cistern system from the river is something we are going to need. My party and I are working on a twelve seat ventilated pit latrine and as many solar showers as we which will probably be up and running with a day to a day and a half tops but this is only a temporary set up we already got a 100 or more people and I have a feeling its going to get more crowded than that fast." *nate walks in, he is wearing a pair of jeans a white T-shirt, a jacket, and a pair of safety glasss*hey, does this place sell food? i'm sick of dogfood and i almost resorted to eating my belt but considering these jeans i found are two sizes to big i thought it better of it me and my group dug a nice sized garden and planted it with the seeds i brought with me we sould be getting some radishs in the next 20 days... they grow quickly the rest of the plants will take longer though about the gas leak... it wasn't the main just one of the nearby buildings meters i think i shut it off when we passed though but i'm not sure, the pipe was banged up pretty bad it might have burst Do you find this valuable? |

Resident teetotaler, a bit grubby from kicking over some vacant fields. Oh Nate, just the type of person I need. If Carnack really thinks I'm going to hook up a plow to the back of a horse to break ground, then I need a whole slew of men and women to pitch in because it's not a one woman job(although I am superwoman). And I hope there aren't a lot of rocks beneath the surface, although from some random digging, it seems to be decent soil. I did manage to bring back a few saplings from my excursion up north, so it wasn't a totally fruitless trip, but these trees won't be bearing fruit for years (what a dorky pun). I wonder where we can start an orchard? 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

"a man wearing a set of dirty cover-alls and backward redsox cap sitting near akerris turns to the gentleman wearing the navy camo."Well once you get a main water tower you could probably branch off small pipes to the showers, just need a couple vavles to regulate water flow. i was kinda bummed though, i saw a small pharmacy, but it was already picked clean unless you count the tampons" Do you find this valuable? |
