Unfortunatly this is breaking my rule of thumb, don't count on things out of your control. I found a property in Montana for my BOL. It is a remote mountain cabin with 1400 sqft of living area. It has a snow roof to handle the weight of large amounts of snow during the winter.

It has it's own subteranian water well, and a 5,000 watt genny that comes with the property. It also comes with deep cycle batteries and a 1000 watt inverter. The property is off grid, the nearest access to public power is half a mile away.

The property also has a large 16' x 24' wood shed and an old shop/garage with a wood stove for heat. The closest neighbor is half a mile away.

I would set up tools to fix my Jeep and things around the house in the shop. I would have a dedicated place for my weapons, and a radio room with CB, UHF/VHF, antennas, and more equipment. I will stock up on MREs and other foods with a long shelf life, like twinkies ;).

Once I start to run low on supplies I will scout the town for anything I can find. I will hopefully have some friends with me if they are willing to come with me, being alone in an isolated cabin during the zombie apocalypse might drive someone insane!

I will definately have my dog with me. A German Shepard named Rocky, he is trained for hunting, and will kill anyone who tries to harm me.
