Beacon Police Department.....Now Hiring!

*Jack, now wearing a fully decorated and well-fitted Police uniform, walks around the town of Beacon, posting copied Notices with the following on them:*************** Attention Citizens: The Beacon Police Department is in need of Five able-bodied people to serve as Police Officers. If you're interested, please contact Jack [AgEnT_GrEEn] at the Redneck RV from 1:00 4:00PM [Anytime via post] for further information. **Do note, you CANNOT be a part of any other Department or the BDF, but your Militia Service does not count as a Department.** **************** *Jack finishes posting the Notices, then heads for the Storehouse and signs out the three Remington 870s, the Mossberg 500 Field and the FN Police Special. He also signs out the Makarov, the 92 and S&W M28, signing out an additional 100 shotgun shells and five shotshell bandoleers. He sets down the clipboard and does a face-palm motion after stopping for a moment to tthink* *Realizing he was pretty dumb for not getting any help, he calls up Gothgirl and Ludka via walkie-talkie to help him out. They eventually mosey their way on over and the three get the items back to the RV* *Jack spends the next several minutes loading the five shotshell bandoleers from the Storehouse as well as the shotguns themselves, then goes into the RV and pulls out the box of 'borrowed' Police uniforms he found at a Dry-Cleaner's a couple towns back* *Satisfied, Jack busts out a lawn chair and enjoys a cigar with Seabass as the two Bald men and the Goth chick square off in a serious game of Magic: the Gathering. Ludka, Vikki and her purple teddy bear go on a nature walk while Cornwallis and Skeeter make crispy squirrel bits over the campfire, the track Glory Hunter by Armored Saint plays on the radio next to Skeeter with moderate loudness* http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHcxBhbLj38 Do you find this valuable?

*Jack, Cornwallis and Skeeter return with the three .357 revolvers, the FN, the 11-87 and the two SKS carbines they traded up for. They find that Ludka and Gothgirl've wandered off to wherever, and that Vikki was hiding inside the RV under some blankets**Jack picks up the little kid like a football and grabs a box of crayons and a coloring book, then colors pictures with her after they all have crispy squirrel bits for lunch. Jack puts on his black D.I. style hat and aviators, waiting for some interested folks to show up* Do you find this valuable? |

I'm interested in this police stuff, could you answer some questions for me? 1. What are the perks of being a cop? 2. What are the downsides of being a cop? 3. Do I have to swear anything? 4. What are the full responsibilities of a cop? 5. Are there any restrictions to cops? Like stuff they cant do? 6. Anything I should be aware of, before I join? If I do decide to join, that is.. Do you find this valuable? |

"Ahh, the perks. Currently, you get one of the awesome uniforms I'm wearing, you get either a shotgun or an SKS and a revolver, you basically patrol and keep the peace and you get some REAL coffee....Maybe even a Donut if we get a bakery going. Downsides....You're gonna have to work odd hours, we're currently going to be understaffed as I only have clearance for five Officers per Shift, you get the normal stresses of Police work and you have to deal with me >:) There is a simple, heart-felt oath Officers must make: "I, [name], Swear to the Chief of Police that when both on and off Duty, I will strive to uphold the Laws and Policies of Beacon to the best of my ability. To Protect and Serve is my role in this Community as well as leading the Militia into Battle. I am fully willing to Give my Life and Take the Life of others for the sake of those in this Establishment without regret or hesitation. My Badge shows my Pride in Beacon and I will not tarnish or forsake it." *Salute* Please, though, don't post the Oath without speaking to me first. After you state your interest in joining, I'll ask you if you want to take the Oath. The general role of Officers is keep the peace within the Citizenry of Beacon whenever a situation beyond normal discourse occurs. This doesn't mean shooting people over arguing or baton-slapping people for being called names you don't like, common sense and a cool head are essential in the daily work of an Officer..The skills I'd like to see in my Officers are: *Common Sense *Working knowledge of Peer Mediation *Has good social skills *Has a working knowledge of Situational Command *Knows how to use handcuffs *Knows basic 1st Aid/CPR *Knows how to use a two-way radio *Firearms proficiency with a sidearm and shotgun *Knows non-lethal take downs Our current directive as determined by me is to investigate suspicious activity potentially harmful to the welfare of Beacon and do a daily check of the various Storehouses records and inventory to make sure nothing is stolen or tampered with. *Continued, added CPR to help clarify* Do you find this valuable? |

*continued**We have no drug or firearms policies at the moment and I don't see any for firearms in the near future. Moonshine can't be made in the residential or commercial areas of Beacon however. Same goes for explosives not authorized by the Minister of Defense. The Rednecks [Seabass, Skeeter and Cornwallis] are cleared for such work along with 1FutureMarine1. *For drugs, anything outside of Tobacco products, Pot and alcohol will be confiscated on sight or when found during a Search. *Criminal Sexual Conduct will be ignored minus reported rape or any misconduct committed in the presence of an Officer at this point in time. I do plan on giving the ladies of this town Mace and or pocket pistols in the near future, though....One's dignity can be robbed in seconds when the Police are only minutes away. *We also will remove radical individuals or group from Beacon with extreme prejudice. If you want the world to be your way, we don't want you around. No exceptions. *If something's going on that you think shouldn't be, chances are it's not healthy. Investigate and act accordingly. *Suspects and Prisoners are to be held in the shacks near the DoD. I have an NPC Day Jailer and a Night Jailer so that's covered. *You must carry your Duty sidearm or an approved sidearm on you at all times unless in trial for misconduct. *Warrants are required prior to entering property, but special instances where Officers can see a crime in action or have a damn good reason to believe something's amiss, they have the right to enter and stop the crime or investigate the area. *paperwork will not be filled out except in the case of death[s], rather tapes of Officer's statements regarding their actions in the day will be kept. *Continued, added policy* Do you find this valuable? |

*Continued*What you can't do; *Drink alcohol, do drugs or smoke anything beyond tobacco on Duty. Off Duty, you still cannot do drugs or smoke anything beyond tobacco, but a bottle of beer, wine cooler or Hard Lemonade/Cider to relax with is fine. *Break the Law unless in Special circumstances where the situation required a breach of the Law in question for the sake of Beacon and its Citizens [this will be reviewed by both the DoD and I when it happens] *Not wear your uniform while on duty. Wear your uniform while off Duty. *Walk around unarmed. Again, common sense says you should be armed. *Disregard orders during an engagement against Hostiles. Please raise concerns as needed in Peace Time, but don't balk everything I say, either. I need smart Officers, not Punks or Sheep. *Fraternize with outside forces of ANY kind for ANY reason. *You cannot have intimate romantic relationships with fellow Officers, period. *If you feel or think you shouldn't be doing something, you probably shouldn't be. Special Notes: *You will be issued special ordnance and will receive further training as resources and skill-sets provide *After you swear in, you're immediately on the clock. I have the majority of those skills...I don't know what all is in basic 1st aid, so I can't say I know that...And I know one or two non-lethal take downs, nothing too advanced, though. The job sounds good, and the swear doesn't seem too intimidating. I deffinitely have an interest in joining, Jack. Anything else? Anything you want to ask me? Take this as my job application, I'll join as soon as you say the word. Do you find this valuable? |

"State your Oath, then take a uniform in your size, I have plenty to choose from. By the way... The uniforms are as follows: Day Shift Officers: Black POLICE baseball cap or plain black fatigue cap Black short sleeve cop shirt [Any workable chest armor you might have, Chris [HR101 will soon make leather armor for stab 'n slash protection for those without chest armor] White tee Nylon or Sam-Browne style duty belt w/ pouches Black BDU trousers Black boots past your ankles, polish is optional as well as tucking your boots in For colder weather/Spring Evenings, you can take one of the M-65 parkas I have or provide your own outerwear, but it MUST be black and free of any patches or logos minus POLICE Night Shift Officers: Currently the same as Day, but in the future I hope to acquire enough Tigerstripes and black dye to make Tac-Tiger uniforms *Added uniform specs* Do you find this valuable? |

*Jack hands Chris a duty belt and has him put it on, then shows him a few baton moves and proper strike areas, then tells him to go get his SKS, his machine pistol and revolver. Chris does, then returns. Jack then tells him to hand the MP to Cornwallis, then go patrol the town and radio in with a sit-rep once every hour or if something pops up* *Chris heads out with his orders in mind as Jack has a glass of water and continues coloring pictures with Vikki. Cornwallis finds a suitable piece of wood and begins the process of making grips* Do you find this valuable? |
