Fire treanch

You dig a trench, wait for it to fill up, light them on fire. It is a good way to kill hundreds with out using a single shot. Also if zombies keep falling in, the fire will keep going. It is a great first line of defense. A wall can also back it. It is a very flexible design. Do you find this valuable?

Bones don't burn under normal conditions, the trench would fill up and zombies could walk right over it

sure it would if theres loads n loads. a deeper trench would help
I still think its a good idea, it would be another line of defence at least.
maybe some system should be made to fill the trench at the right time so as to stop whatever fuel is being used from evaporating/drying.

What are you going to light them on fire with?
Human bodies dont ignite/burn well by themselves. You have to get them really brewed up to start the body fat to burning.

I've thought about it, and it really isn't that bad of an idea if you can find a place with a deep enough trench already dug. When I was in california, there were a ton of 6-10 feet deep and 6-7 feet wide irrigation trenches that would have worked well.

Seems like it would be a VERY tall order to dig one yourself, even with heavy machinery. Underground pipes, lines, roots, and rocks are common.

I too have thought about this many times and found a couple of flaws with that idea. Like nate121 said eventually the bones will pile up, unless you dig it very deep, which brings me to my next point. The hard labor required to dig such a trench around your location. Even if you have multiple people it will require resources such as food and water, and you would need to use shovels because if you start a tractor or bulldozer, every zombie in a few miles radius will come a knockin'. Fuel is the next problem. Gas, diesel fuel... all pretty common, right? WRONG! In a ZAPOC situation, everybody is gonna grab as much gas as they can. And unless you come upon a store of thermite (a compound of powder that can burn at temperatures reaching around 3000-5000 degrees farenheit). So yeah. Then again you could scrape the powder off a couple thousand sparklers. They are legal in all states I think and are not expensive and I'm almost positve most stores stock up on them around the 4th of July. And let's keep in mind they're cheap as helk.(Don't make fun of me, I just don't cuss) and sparkler powder still burn at a nice roasty, toasty 3000 degrees. So yeah. Gas mixed with a couple thousand sparklers will do the trick, of thermite, but whatever. And think if the wind changes, you'll get the smell of burning flesh through you'll whole camp and that will possibly contaminate any gardens and/or animals, and if you eat those, you become what you wre trying to destroy. Just a few things I see wrong with that plan.

I doubt anyone is going to make fun of you. Not cussing is a very good thing. Unfortunately, I still do it. It's practically a habit.

Thanks! Although if I get on, then post something along the lines of "h juybnhynbgu" Then know I got beat up(Highly doubtful) because of that incident. XD But I'm good at watching my won back, and know some good fighting techniques, although have no clue what it's called. So when I fight, I use Knuxz-Fu.

The flaws are a simple fix. To start the fire, you only need to catch one and it will light the rest, you can do that with anything flammable. The bones would not be hard to remove. If you back it with a concrete wall they could pile up more, so you don't have to dig it as deep, maybe only 6-8 feet. Do you find this valuable?

Human flesh is not particularly flammable. It takes an accelerant to get it going, and keep it going. Most people who die from burns can blame either their clothing or gasoline for allowing the flames to stay lit.

A pit with bodies in it, without any kind of fuel, will simply not burn. If the pit is too tightly packed, oxygen cannot easily get to the fuel, and it will not burn.

If you have zombies trapped, you can poke them in the head with a long sharp stick. No risk of firezombies escaping the pit then.

Burning corpses is a possible disposal solution, but this would be better done using renewable fuel such as wood, rather than precious gasoline.

I like it because it's a two in one. You are providing your self with defense and you are disposing of the corpses at the same time. Yes there is the problem of there being a pile up but it can be bypassed. Do you find this valuable?

Pedro is right though. Don't use gasoline unless you absolutely have too. Only if god turns his back. If he does, use it and go down in an awesome flame of zombie death and awesomeness. That way if you survive and there are girls watching they'll think your cool and you know what happens from there. Do you find this valuable?

Is not like it is going to be the only defense, is it? we have talk many times about trenches, and most people agree that they are not a permanent defense, just a delaying mechanism.

It would be a good line of defense, so long as the next line of defense behind it is not made of wood. Do you find this valuable?
