Severly flawed
May 20 2010, 5:21 PM EDT
I just got here and I'm already seeing that people are gonna be screwed.1. I highly doubt you or anyone else will readly carry those supplies which alone could be used for energy and food just to make no bake cookies. 2. Time: If you've barricaded a safe house or building and have the time then go for it. It may only be a minute, but that is still to long. Boiling water takes about 5 to 20 minutes depending on the heat temperature, the other problem, is getting a readly available heat source. Stick with freeze dry food if you have it, non perishables, energy bars, and water. Any questions message me or tell me here. Do you find this valuable?

"I just got here and I'm already seeing that people are gonna be screwed.I'm honestly amazed that of all the countless useful information in this wiki you choose this to comment on this. from your other post i see that you seem to be focused primarily on events immediately after the outbreak. My thinking on this is that you will probably not survive past the first hour therefore you are incapable of seeing any further. the point of the no bake cookies page was not to say ( hey look guys there is a zombie outbreak lets make cookies ). it is mint to be something to lift your spirits after months of surviving once you are in a stable safe location. you don't happen to wear a 11w boot do you? Also, you will need hot food during winter times or you will go down with hyperthermia. Hot food also gives you more energy than cold. If you have a nearby water source - I suggest getting as much hot water as possible :) Do you find this valuable? |

"I think this guy probably quit..."yea, another FFT.{Fire-and-Forget Troll} @SGT: i kinda want one of those JetBoil's, seems like a good way of getting a cup of hot cocoa without having to build a fire. though i guess that could be said of pocket stove. Do you find this valuable? |

That's why we have different recipes. Kitchen recipes when we settle down, camp for minimal preparation foods like these, and trail foods for just throwing together and chowing down on.Anybody who has backpacked can tell you boiling and frying isn't hard. Even baking, with the right tools. And... uh, I might note that freeze dried foods require boiling water and additional rehydration time in comparison to this recipe. Do you find this valuable? |

"yea, another FFT.{Fire-and-Forget Troll}I haven't actually used mine as of yet, but everyone else has gave it excellent reviews. Now, the only problem I have with gas burners in survival is that you need man made equipment to use them. My hexi cooker does not i.e. I can use the enviroment etc. It only boils 120 litres as well, which is a lot actually I suppose but again - its limited. Its expensive but I would not say getting one was a bad idea as long as you don't fully rely on it :) Do you find this valuable? |
