"if you are doing this because you legitimately need a weapon, i suggest buying a machete, they are lightweight, sturdy and multi purpose. not to mention affordable ($5-20)

if you are making a sword type weapon for fun or as a hobby i would not suggest using it in actual combat because unless you are a master swordsmith your product would likely break or inflict minimal damage after a single use "
