Really you can't just automatically have gas food water and guns. And in the middle of a zombie outbreak the panic will last for a while (it all depends on what kinda zombie) so the gun store will be empty or lots of riots going on. So right now I have gas tanks stocked up, tons fo 5 gallon buckets of water and a couple of guns; this is all just to start me off. In the midst of the panic the best place to be is in your home, unless you already took over whatever location you decided to hold out in. After the initial panic is gone and most people are zombies. Make sure your geared up and ready to go. I would then grab some close friends and setup a hq. This is a tough decision for most but i think i have it down...COSTCO. Look it has food tall racks for barricades, medicine, and enough electronics. The only thing is lacks is guns, but again preparation is the key. So after we have setup base we begin the search for survivors. First we start with a small convoy and patrol the city. We will recruit as many people as we can for deffence and search units. Im not the teaming up type but there is strength in numbers. I will have no more than 30 people with me. So anyone in Nor cal. that is unsure what to do i suggest you rendezvous with us at the Costco In Redding. Address:Station is accessible‎ Not true? Show all edits Not true? You can hold up and sustain yourself and 30 people in a small rural town. Big cities mean big business...but it also means big population which will probably cause big death. DLOWTHEMAD	8. RE: My plan its almost full proof Jun 3 2010, 12:34 PM EDT And make sure to rotate and use up your older stocked up gas. That stuff has a shelf life. The plan isn't horrible for a few reasons, but mostly it sounds ok because you seem to have thought it out. My suggestion is a little more extreme than duterfel's, I don't even like small rural towns... Find a holdout in the woods. Try as hard as you can to disappear. Only scrounge towns that are a half a day or moretravel from your dig in location. Even rural nor cal is populous enough to cause issues. Post reply Do you find this valuable?

Hey, that's my idea! Seriously, I thought a Costco up here would be just as good. It's located in an industrial area (closest homes are about 20 blocks away), so probably fewer zombies around, and like you said, lots of food and goodies to ride out the apocalypse in. So when you get there...don't be too shocked to find a large mob of people already tearing the place to bits. Jack...you say you have guns? How many guns? What kind of guns? How much ammo do you have? Can you actually use these guns effectively ? Bringing guns into a chaotic situation can cause even more panic and will probably get a lot of people killed...including yourself. If you have guns...well...I want them. The initial reports that everyone expects of widespread rioting, and civil unrest are going to cause people to say " We should go stock up, just in case". With civilization already beggining to unravel, even this "pre-panic" buying is going to cause large wholesale and multi department superstores to run nearly completely out of groceries and emergency supplies faster than their respective wharehouse shipments can come in. So not only will everyone show up like party crashers, they are going to be fighting over like 10%(estimate, no backing formula) of the stores usual stock. If the outbreak is world wide then there will be no time to do anything. There will be no warning...no time to raid or loot. There is just chaos, death and destruction from that moment on. The undead will always find you...no matter how isolated your area...no matter how far you run...they will eventually find you. That's what they do...it's all they do. I would rather fight what is coming for me in an urban setting than in the bush. I would not want to fight an undetermined amount of zombies coming at me from all direction through thick bush at night...unless I live in a tree house. Post reply Do you find this valuable?
