I know someone here has one. I heard its a pretty good knife but looks super bulky for a folder. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

"Essentially a folding Kukri"
No folder can compare to the strength of a fixed.

It's not possible.

Well I like NF's reviews on knives but I rarely take his word on it.

So far I'm pretty pleased with the Steel Tiger. I prefer a serrated blade, but the "tip breaking" problem has yet to plague me.

I've mostly been cutting cloth state carbon fiber, fiberglass, and 550 cord.

That's what I want. I love the karambit design.

The blade is SUPER thick, even for a cold steel knife. It fits in my hand like a DREAM, but I prefer holding it blade down. You really get a sense of how easy it would be to fight with just from holding it the first time.

By the way, I just passed Drewblet to take the #19 spot for all time most thread posts on the site. About 5,000 more and I'll catch up to you Carnack, lol.

Personally, I think that the Cold Steel "Spartan" is the butt-ugliest folding pocket knife in existence. I'm sure, like any other Cold Steel product, it's probably durable and super sharp. And there's no doubt in my mind that it could serve well in a self-defense situation. I just think its hideous though.

Besides, according to case law, the maximum legal blade length for carry in the state of Missouri is 4 inches, and the Spartan exceeds this length by 1/2 inch, rendering it effectively illegal for me to carry on my person. Is it enforced? Rarely, but better safe than sorry, since carrying a weapon illegally is a felony.

Well I got ahold of the their Nightshade series and loved the feel of the karambit.

I'd have liked more weight...and for the thing to not break at the first sign of cardboard.

Having it in metal solves that.

Looks like I'm heading back to the Bar. :)

If I wanted a CS knife I'd go for this one.

The medium has a 3 1/2 blade. http://www.coldsteel.com/espadaseries.html

Or this one. I like integral rings in my knives. http://www.coldsteel.com/point-guard.html

I'd like to get ahold of this though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-P9uDdUMfE

Probably won't happen though :(

The "Espada" is one BAD knife. A buddy has one and I find myself envious of it, though I will say that it cuts no better than my Kershaw does, but it's much cooler than anything I carry. It just screams "awesome" every time it's unveiled.

However, if I could have any CS folder (other than the Espada!) it would be the "Hatamoto" I dig the Japanese tanto-like styling cues, especially its non-traditional tanto point. I find the handle very classy looking, as it's very minimalist. The cheapest I've seen it online is about $200 - incidentally, WAY more than I'd ever pay for a pocket knife.

Karambits are AWESOME! Carnack, you have great taste in knives my friend. I've actually been considering getting into knife making just to start designing and building my own folding karambit-style knife for family and friends. Maybe one day I can get enough cash and time to pursue and complete any of the projects I have in mind! Do you find this valuable?

This knife however makes me cringe at the damage I'd get if I stabbed anything with it.

No kidding. That Konjo II is pretty ruthless!

PS - I'm watching the Hatamoto review now! Thanks for the link to his page! I'm subscribing to it too, looks like he does good stuff.

It looks great...but I've been hurt that way and it sucks to be a lefty without his left hand!

~~sliced the inside of my fingers to the bone~~

No problem. I just like drooling over knives in general. Guns are good but knives have personality.

How much do those bad boys typically run for? Probably well more than I want to know.... they are beautiful though! I especially like the Triton. The serrated spine looks wicked. The leather sheath is even top notch too.

Have you seen the Emerson folder karambit? I like that it has G10 grip scales and a large grip, but I have some criticisms - the blade is awfully small, almost too small for effective stabbing or plunging cuts. If it had another inch of blade real estate, I'd be a lot more inclined to pay the $150+ for it.
