"Gotta say, Ideally, I think looting is a bad idea- you go in what seems to be an empty house- as there's someone with a gun, holed up. Blam. No more you.

Anyway, what we need to think of Is Landmarks. Anyone here live in or near Nottingham? I know I could rech Nottingham Castle within a day, and they have swords, bows, etc, in glass cases. Easy to get. Plus, the place is easily fortifiable, assuming Zeds aren't inside. Lock the gates, have guards. Places like that, good. Ice stadium...bad. "
i live near nottingham ...well about 15 miles out in a village with no more than 400 people..HellfireBlue i guess ur livin near derby or lincoln lol

go to places built for protection, e.g a bank vault or a prison. Prisons may either have locked up inmates or zombies, but many high security ones will have high fences, and firearms, maybe even extra supplies and rations? Also areas with lack of human presence e.g forests, abandoned buildings and graveyards lol. i will always try to outwit zombies, as far as I know they cannot think so ladders are good, maybe large building blocks to climb to safety. yet again if zombies coulldn't think why would they attack humans or anything that moves or even try to eat it, if they dont know any better. Its hard to tell what they would be like, but quite frankly they will never exist Do you find this valuable?

I live in Lincoln, which isn't far from Notts. A load of RAF bases are closer though, so they'll be my first port of call once I escape the city.

Overall, Windermere in Cumbria wouldn't be bad as an eventual meet-up place. There're signs to it from quite a way out, so it's easy to find if you can read (hopefully the zombies can't), it's a lake, so water is sorted, I can pretty much guarantee that there's wild game around there too! And it's fairly isolated (there's just a village at one end).

Relooking at it it seems that most of one side is taken up with villages and small towns... The other side is game though, and there're uninhabited islands in the middle!

check out fort belan on the west wales coast there must be more places like this Napoleonic forts etc with most of there primary defenses in place this one even has a harbour to launch boats full of kids and brains to keep them extra safe while the grunts deal with any incoming attacks. Oh Boy, I just read through some of my old posts.

Just for the record, I cannot ride a horse, and yes. I know I will snap my body trying to ride one.

I think I will just stay at my house instead of roaming to the farms.

my dad owns a firearms licenze we have a .223 rifle a 17 hmr and a 12 gauge, soon to have a single barreled 12 gauge but the rifle ammo is limited to how much we can hold so we have about 100 bullets. there is a school opposite me which is surrounded by metal gates, i dont plan on doin anything heroic like bringing up a settlement or whatever but it could be handy is some form or another. food i will get from any form of wildlife such as birds with my air rifle and alot of scavenging will take place in other peoples houses. I also live in Gloucester so its close to the countryside i drive a 4x4 pick up truck.

"hello everyone, sorry i havent been on in a while. Thanks for all the tips and tactics and stuff. We need to get a specific place on the site where we can have like a map of england a post all RVs and locations of importance like police stations, pharmacies, farms and so on.
If we cant just do a print screen of google maps and put your Rv and stuff on and email it to others in you region e.g south east england etc.
I will start a national map with little detail to put each town we will be staying/operating in and divide in seperate regions, then everyone do a more focused map of your local area. (zoomed in version on the large one)

PLEASE SPREAD THIS IDEA, IT WILL HELP TO PLAN WHERE TO GO."
Just FYI, im operating in weymouth, dunno if its useful to you though :)

"Isles Of Scilly???"
I'm considering that as a long-term BOL, low population, fairly isolated from the world, and enough land for farming. Also I have the right skills to get there, ride a horse to the coast, sail there on a small dhingy.

Funny I can ride a horse now haha :) I don't come on often anymore but the only problem about 'forts, castles, all these places' is they're located all over the country so it will be hard to meet up with survivors unless everyone decides that, that should be all survivors BOL which won't happen unless it becomes a policy. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Well, I live in Nottingham. Considering, I dunno if Nottingham Castle would be a good idea. Well fortified, but there'd be tons of people for a while. Maybe later. Still, there's lots of castles and stuff in England, unlike America, so we have a small advantage there if we can only capture and barricade them well. Still problems with heating and all that stuff, but safer, I think. Also, lots of people would go to the countryside probably, so harder to reach.

Lincoln is good. Steep hill. Push zombies down it and see if they have enough coordiantion. If not, see who's tumbling now. Still, probably hard to find one good BOL for a lot of us.

An army base though? Likely to be defended. But if you can get in, do. Except early. If people go there for protection a zed will get in eventually. Like that place everyone was in in that episode of Doctor Who- Utopia. A Futurekind got in and nearly killed them all.
