Bugging out to Maine
Jun 28 2010, 1:18 PM EDT | Post edited: Jun 28 2010, 1:18 PM EDT
I grew up on the coast of Maine near the mouth of the Penobscot River in Maine a little town called Stocton Springs. In Elementary School I started solo camping these woods and in Jr. High took a Canoe down the Penobscot River (All the way). My mothers house sits on 10 acres of woods so fuel is not a problem and a moose or a bear (both all over the place there) can feed a family for a week or 3. I also have buried supplies in the woods there. If SHTF during the winter I'll wait till spring before my trip North.
At least I wont have to walk I have a Class "A" moter home that has food and fuel in it allready (500-600 miles of fuel in it) a 12ga and 250 rounds of ammo. The Generator in it will run gas pumps with no problem so resupply wont be a problem.

How far north is it? is it like, Aroostook county North, or near stockton? I'm moving up to Belfast soon so It'd be nice to know another survivalist in the area. Do you find this valuable?

I see. Well, you know the area I'm moving too. If the S ever HTF you can come and bug out here. Although I am generally a soloist (my family is... less than desirable company and not too wise in the way of... anything...) I'll make an exception for someone who seems strong in mind. (even if your spelling and grammar could use some work :P) Do you find this valuable?

Well once i get done with the navy and move back to Maine id probably bug in at my house in Raymond, but if it looks like everyone's heading north into Maine and dragging the zombies with them, then my families BOL is gonna be up in the north Maine logging lands about 80 miles from the nearest town up near the Allagash river. A sound plan. I was up in that area not too long ago. Lots of cliffs, hills, forests and rivers. Difficult to get into. A good defensive zone and plenty of food about. I like it. Plus we can dredge Moxie Pond to make some Moxie :P Do you find this valuable?
