Jul 5 2010, 8:56 PM EDT | Post edited: Jul 5 2010, 8:56 PM EDT
I need to know if we could start a new community story, I enjoy seeing everybodies participation in the last few but i have yet to be around for the end of them. I believe we need to talk to an administrator or moderator but first i wanna kno if i got your support. Thanks Do you find this valuable?

I'm in charge of fiction, and I should have started this thread eventually, but there was a lack of interest.

If you guys are interested though, then, hell, I'll moderate it and get the rules down.

Since I'm back (again), I might as well get involved in this.

Want to write a character or two that is closer to my own character this time.

Make it realistic though lol no hummers with .50 cal machinegun.

Actual loadouts add a sense of realism, and take away all the wannabe Rambos.

After the nightmare zombie thread I made the other day, I would like to see some RE influences. So pack your red and green herbs in your BOB!: )

So, then. How would we do this? A bunch of independent stories that tie together, multiple authors on the same sequence, etc? I think ietherpad.com would be ideal. Do you find this valuable?

I like this ^^. Kinda like the same overall story, but from different viewpoints.

Im thinking either Max Brooks esq zombies or Morningstar Strain.
While these types of zombies arnt really believible in terms of what a realistic zombie might be like (i.e. they're actualy died) I think that in a story setting they have a bigger scare factor then simply Rage zombies would.

Just my reasoning anyway...

----edit---- checked out that ietherpad.com website. Its pretty cool and seems like a good idea to me.

Morningstar sounds like a good compromise - ragers while alive, shamblers after being killed, correct? I think a Resi-Evil like setting would work out nicely too, with unique creatures like the Cerberus and all.

We need some ground rules for this, first.
I think posts should be written via an ietherpad. Multiple writers could do small group collaborations, to keep us from having, say, fifteen different stories running parallel.

Then, I'd look over the post and point out anything that clashes with the story, then edit it into the main page.

That aside, you guys think character profiles are necessary?

Character profiles should only be necessary unless you do really good character development and description in the story. Other wise, they should be optional. Do you find this valuable?

^^ the Morningstar Strain is from the "Plague of the Dead" by Z.A. Recht. Its really good read and if you get a chance you should definitely pick it up.

@ John 234: for ietherpad.com, how about groups of say three? And I was thinking each group brainstroms/ writes their stories (following a common guideline and setting between all groups) that later are combined into a larger one. Similar to a news paper. In which case you'd be the senior editor I guess.
