I'm not particular of number of people per group. It's just that we can't have a dozen story threads simultaneously. Do you find this valuable?

I like the idea of having several dove-tailed stories, but with three people (or more or less depending on what is settled on) per story how many characters will they control? In the other community story it seemed some people had as many as four characters they were manipulating. Do you find this valuable?

Im personaly thinking 1-2 main characters per story(keeps it grounded with investment in each character) with lots of sub-characters(aka: lots o zombie crunchies lol. )

Im thinking it would be interesting to get inside the head of a character whos seen his/her whole family turn and having to deal with putting them down. You dont see that alot in zombie fan fics or books. Even movies actualy come to think of it.

I like the idea of playing that one out. Make him kinda dark and psycho afterward and it'd be great. ^_^

Another idea: he could stumble across some other survivors, dosnt want to help them at first, but eventualy grows attached. This is were I go really emo and say that they then die soon after, leaving him alone again. MWA HA HA HA!!!!!!!. Though that mit be a tad much lol Do you find this valuable?

Has anyone here read the Forest of Hands and Teeth or the Dead-Tossed Wavesby Carrie Ryan? It had a nice idea about ragers and shamblers - if there aren't enough zombies in the area anyone infected becomes a Breaker (like a rager) to keep the infection going.

How about one person=One character? People might get really invested in their characters, though, and be reluctant to kill them off.

That idea kinda reminds me of a guy in the story I'm writing. His whole family is raped, tortured, then killed in front of him so he becomes a berserker who is attached to his new group. But most of them die anyways. Do you find this valuable?

Thats why you have two or three somtimes, to add to the emotional development of the others, more so when one of them dies.

@Drakkarius: You know, if several stories are written about the same event, then having at least onr totaly bleak, every possible bad thing happens to but still a complete bad-ass character mit be a good thing to include iin this.

Btw how about this for the name of our Morningstar/Res-evil virus: Toxicalin(Tox-i-ka-lin)
Bio-warfare/pharma drug gone wrong basicly. Well maybe thats too much like Res-evil lol

That seems ok. And if they don't get completely devoured they can play them self as a mindless husk. ;)

^^^ Thats a good idea. How bout having a charatcer start out as human and then later be turned. The rest of the story could be through its eyes, eatin people and all. Kinda like 28 weeks later i guess Do you find this valuable?

Why would we need multiple characters per writer? If everybody that responded to this thread joined in, we'd have about fifteen writers already. Do you find this valuable?

If every writer has perhaps two characters, they wouldn't be so shy to kill one off. Death and gore is sort of the point of a zombie story, isn't it?

Exactly my point. And you don't really expect everyone to be persistent in keeping up with this, do you?

Starting off with thirty characters is only going to destroy the story before it starts, either way... It's a bit of a tough issue. Characters will probably be approved on an individual basis. Do you find this valuable?

how bout we turn to the last community story because that would definatly give us a base for discussion, because if we have 30 characters trying to add their own perspective to a firefight that would be to dang long. Im thinkin we start multiple stories no more then 4 people per beggining then as we go along we can increase group size meet up etc etc. from their on out and just have multiple threads to sort things out Do you find this valuable?

This might suck, but we're probably going to need an author limit, especially if this is page based. If someone drops out, their slot can be filled in. Do you find this valuable?

^^this. Im thinking it would be best to have either 9-10 people, having 3-5 groups in all, at 2 or 3 people per group respectivly. Also one story per group so things dont get carried away.

Also I think it would be wise to devy up groups soon on the grounds that we put a liimt per character, per story. With a two-three person group, indeas are bounced around through brainstorming, and although there could be only one main character per group, each member of a group will help develop the character and will be contributing to the groups story overall.

Moreover, I dont think they'll be too much trouble with conflicting stories, as crazyteddy said, simply based on the fact that as long as the setting and theme are the same(i.e. same zombies/virus and local where all the stuff is happening) people can branch out with their characters. As long as we have a central editor (im assuming you John) were all stories are checked off before being added to the larger story as a whole, we should be fine.

I guess in a way im thinking, "If your character dosnt know about a fire fight, how can he be in one?"

Say we have even have 6 "short" stories with 3 people per group, thats 18 people, which is more than as John pointed out the 15 we have already. No single person is the would be the sole author of the story (even if they do actualy write it) everyone in the group contributes. Like a real community I guess.

I like the idea of the stories touching on subjects that we talk about on the forum but dont see to often in other z-fic literature.
