What do you think of this shotgun?

As you may or may not be aware, Australia has some of the most awful gun laws in the world, apparently, we as a nation, are more inclined to either blow our own heads off or our neighbours instead of using a firearm for hunting or self defence. But i digress, what im after is your opinion on the shotgun at the following link, it may seem pretty pitiful to some of you, but please remember that shotguns are extremely hard to get here in Australia in anything other than single shot or double barrel (either side x side or over/under).
I have been advised that it is basically compulsary to have a couple of shotguns in my arsenal for z-day (and any other apocalypse) and think the following is the best option that i can find considering our laws.

Its a 5 shot lever action shotgun btw and please, if you know of any better, readily available shotguns please let me know

Cool looking piece! I really like the short barrel. As for the gun, I really cant say much on. I have handled pump, semi, and even a bolt but never a lever shotgun. If you can find some reviews on it that are worth a da*n then go for it.

They are neat, I like the barrel length but the action looks like the old Winchester lever shotgun, and if so is awkward to reload and has a LONG lever throw.
But it is better than nothing.
If you can get them, I would prefer a bolt action shotgun over the lever action.
Even a double may end up being nearly as fast.
But I dont know what your laws are about them.

i have never fired a shotgun, its been on my 'to do' list for a long time. I think ill head down to the local range and see if i can try a few different kinds.
im used to a pretty long throw, my 30-30 has a pretty long throw but i shall see how i go. The main reason i go for the lever actions is because i am used to them and feel very comfortable with them.

If you have a 30-30 then this would definitely be your back up. In that case I think it would be worth it for sure.

With that 30-30 and a good supply of ammo you could stay on the move, using the shotgun for close quarter work like say scavenging a home or building.

not quite for several reasons.
1) currency exchange from US to AUD
2) exporting from US to australia and passing customs would be insanely expensive
3) i dont trust anything bought from a .com site and have never, and will never buy from anything other than a .com.au site or any other doain which is actually regulated

High price tag, but I imagine that guns are much more expensive than they are here in the states. Shotgun shells are probably easy to obtain there though, seeing as that 12 gauge is probably what most people shoot there.

As per the quality of the shotgun, I can't say one way or the other - I've never handled a "IAC" brand firearm. In fact, short of this posting, I have never heard of them before either. That's not to say that this is a bad thing - they may not do business around here.

Didn't Quickrace post an almost identical thread? I don't recall the IAC being all that bad. Do you find this valuable?

IAC is a lot like Century Arms (makers of the WASR-10). They get foreign clones of popular weapons, swap in some US made parts, then transfer the guns to the united states. Considering the design is pretty simple, I'd say the IAC model is good to go for it's price tag. Do you find this valuable?
