So Foolish it just might work
Jul 8 2010, 2:20 PM EDT
I am watching the news eating a bowl of oatmeal to keep my fiber good and I hear that in sonme crowded city people have gone cannibalistic which is just another term for Zombie. I call three people, My lovely girl, one of my old friends who isn't my friend anymore ( You need someone who you can trust but don't care if they die) and my best friend. I tell them I'll meet them at their house so stay hidden ( except my old friend, i tell him wait for my call) I pick up my squeeze and my twin and bring them back to my secluded house (again arizona) and wait until the cities are more or less destroyed. I then call my old friend and ask him to meet us at Wal-mart. Argument for Wal-mart: I know alot of people disagree with this but hear me out. This is a very large place and people say it can't be protected easily all at once but this place has iron gates at every entrance. If a zombie somehow manages to get through an entrance and you are too far to them the floors are tiled and the place is so large that the echoes will provide enough awareness to find a safe place and pick of the rogue. Wal-mart has. Bedding, Food, Stoves, Guns, Video Games, TV's, all resident evils. Toys, Toilet Paper... Everything you can ever need... also enough bottle water to supply at least thirty-seven camels. Anybody says costco or Sam's Club is better... I will destroy you. Another argument against Wal-Mart is that every foolish non-believer will go to Wal-mart... Is that a bad thing? you can assert yo$ur BA-ness and use them as bait or monkeys to do menial work. and if there are too many people let me ask you this... How much ammo do you have? After we set up wal-mart Fallout 3 style in skimpy raider clothing I plan to have my best friend die first in a security breach. Then my old friend in a suicide mission to help hold of the giant horde while me and my girl escape vis government helicopter ro a safe haven. thoughts? 0 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

My thoughts are that that seems like a fun video game. It's not a plan though.

Except you lock out all these survivors because your exerting your bada$ness and they are eventually turned into zombies. Now you stuck in a sea of undead....Still now you make sure to barracade it real well you could use all that potting soil and make a big garden on top of the roof :D I bet you could find some way to collect fresh water or even make it with the stuff at walmart...go all survivorman and make it work... While I do not think its a very good plan because I just think in the end its a losing situation. 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

No. because the fact of the matter is, it takes one guy with a .22 to trake you out, and you are not some uberman who can deal with a whole crown trying to kill him, nor are they all gonna want to follow you. the other fact of the matter is that within that crown, theres a high probability some are already infected, so basically as soon as you get there, the security is breached already. besides, most of the food in wal-mart will spoil quickly, since they don't have internal power generators, and i doubt the power will last long, so most of their food will spoil. Now, onto your imaginary government helicopter which stops in a random location to look for suyrvivors...a huge horde will not be stopped by one man, or slowed, or noticably impeded. He will be, as they say, bulldozed. In any case, I hope you don't have this read by any of your friends, because I know if I read this, in their position, I wouldn't talk to you ever again.

Ah but I'm not one man im three and a girl. If diplomacy doesn't work you wait til night. And the coolers will go out quickly but they do have crank generators while cumbersome are effective for sale at wal-mart but even if there was no coolers Wal-mart doesn't onlyy have perishable food. In a zombie apocalypse i'm certain i can live on canned food. But yes the guy will be completely destroyed but it adds for dramatic effect. It will be one of those barely make it out alive scenarios with a zombie clutching your ankle and you say an epic line and shoot him in the head. While the helicopter takes off.

You are not the first person to come up with a WalMart Plan (WMP). You will not be the last. You will not be alone. The Panic was written to point out all the flaws of the WMP. Best case scenario, you get there first and have to fight off (a) store clreks and managers, (b) hordes of scared, angry people (c) the first wave of zombies. All three of these in quick succession. Worst case, as the first person there you have to fight everyone else off, and one of them manages to kill you. Or you turn up in the middle of The Panic, and die in the mob. Or you turn up last, and the place has been stripped of everything you were after. Plan. Prepare. Plan again. Repeat until you have filled all the holes. Do you find this valuable? |

"And with the word spreading that wal-mart is not the place to be No one will go besides the naive and they will die within the panic. "Word is only spreading amongst those who prepare for disaster, not the general population. There are a lot more people in the general population than there are members of this site. When we hit 3 billion members, your argument will hold water. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

"You are not the first person to come up with a WalMart Plan (WMP). You will not be the last.I will not be the first one there. I will be probably the last after the initial impact of everything. I'm not the first to make this plan but with so many people against this plan and word spreading even through the non-believer community people will think."hmm wal-mart? not such a good idea" and this man is like ah reverse psychology ma cherie. 0 out of 1 found this valuable. "Word is only spreading amongst those who prepare for disaster, not the general population.but it already is. With the growing concern and popularity of the zombie apocalypse more poepler are reading The Zombie Survival Guide and other reference tools. And I have no doubt that a year before Z-Day three billion people will be weary to go to Wal-Mart. 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

"You are wrong. People faced with disaster don't think or act rationally. They are running on fear and dread. Primal instincts not governed by "reverse psychology". They need food, they need water. They will kill and maim to get it. They will kill and maim YOU to get it. Even the idea of barricading yourself in an empty WalMart is a bad idea. People will believe you are sitting on a stockpile, and attempt to get in. When you try and stop them (because you can't share your meagre scraps with anyone else or you will all starve) they will kill and maim you to get in. Do you see a pattern here? Desperate people are capable of great violence when their survival is threatened. Your utopian vision of a fully stocked WalMart and no danger simply will not come to pass. If you really want to survive, you need to make preparations now. 4 out of 4 found this valuable. Do you? |
