"Quite frankly, we don't care to hear your beliefs. The reason for positng the Political Compass results was to show that there was a wide spread in the thinking on the site. Outside of that, I don't give a **** who you vote for, or what you believe."Indeed, Pedro's right. This isn't a "this is how I feel" thread, this is more of a "if I was on a chart...." sort of thing (if I'm understanding it correctly.) Drak, by simply stating that you believe that "politics is bull@#$% and you don't ascribe myself to any followings," you have inactively nullified the position of everyone else and by it's very nature is insulting to someone who feels differently - and you better believe that many folks here feel differently. It's not only intolerant, it's rude! Besides... you're not even old enough to vote yet! Now, let's move on, now that you're aware of the purpose of Pedro's Political Compass chart. Take the quiz (if you like) and participate... or don't, it's up to you. Do you find this valuable? |

Ok, so I took the test and got left/right: -5.25 and libertarian/authoritarian: -.25. I don't particularly agree considering it doesn't take my belligerence into account. I think that would put me higher up and closer to the right.

Mind you, I think that this takes global understanding of liberal and conservative into consideration. For example, in the US, gun rights are supported by Conservative parties, but it is, in fact, a liberal issue, since the retention of individual rights tends to be a liberal hallmark. In places like Australia, gun rights are considered "progressive," and by definition is very liberal. Do you find this valuable? |

"Mind you, I think that this takes global understanding of liberal and conservative into consideration.Well I'm a little faster on this. The liberal party primarly supports gun bans. Yes there are some who don't but the party in general backs bans. So can you call it Liberal? Or are you not going by doctrine? Do you find this valuable? |

In general, we'd call gun bans here in the US a liberal agenda, and therefore those who support gun bans get 1 point in the liberal department. Typical liberals here want to ban guns.On the flip side, in Europe, the folks who want what we call "2nd Amendment rights" are very liberal, since it's a motion for change from the conservative standard of few, highly restricted gun rights. The desire for gun rights are liberal there... right? It's pretty interesting to look at politics in terms of global definition, which often differs from the American definitions for politics. Something that's supported by conservatives here is supported by liberals elsewhere... Do you find this valuable? |
