"i have the stuff to make a musket. bought it at cabelas, you could make amo, all you need is a mold and lead, powder is not hard to find either. "you can actually make your own powder from materials at home not as effective but atleast better than nothing 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

My plan is to modify my black powder pistol. I'm going to run the wires from a Piezoelectric trigger into the flash point (so I won't need percussion caps), melt down those lead weights you find on car tires, and make Gun-Cotton instead of black powder. My understanding is, it's just cotton fiber soaked in a mixture of Nitric acid and Sulphuric acid. (Just gotta figure out how to make those acids post apocalypse!)

Bullets, rifles and poweder were both originally all hand made so we'll lose industrial mass produced weapons, guns such as the kentucky long rifle will make a major comeback for those with the required skills and chemical knowledge. The long rifle is still made by artisans by hand today. The Sten gun was made in underground workshops by hand all across occupied Europe as well.

gun cotton is a tadd more complex than that it is far more than a simple mixture of two acids soaking in cellulose. I will not go into details due to the possibility of misuse.
