How shatterproof is shatterproof glass?

Always, in the movies, you see dozens if not hundreds of zombies pressing up against store-front glass without it so much as cracking.

Does anyone have experience with it in real life? If so, can you vouch for how tough it is? Would it really stand up to say, 20 people slamming themselves against it?

All shatterproof glass is is 2 layers of glass with a thing plastic sheet between them. It isn't build to be strong, it is built to break into little tiny pieces that hold together rather than shattering into big dangerous shards.

Lexan, chicken wire glass, or bullet proof glass will hold a LOT of weight without caving in.

Shatterproof glass wouldn't hold, but the bullerproof glass found at alot of gas stations would hold. I got the opportunity to beat a bulletproof glass window with a folding chair and then a fence post, and I could barely dent it. Do you find this valuable?

Kind of.

Shatterproof is laminated as you say, but it isn't made to break into small pieces. It will still break into dangerous shards. They are just stuck to the laminate.

Tempered glass is the type that will break into small, "round blocks", and is the type used in phone boxes and bus shelters.

Tempered laminated glass is a combination of the two. The blocks are all going to stay stuck to the sheet, and it falls out of the pane. It's called the "wet blanket" effect.

Bulletproof (bullet-resistant) glass is simply Tempered, laminated glass, but instead of two glass sheets and one plastic, there are seven or eight layers of each, sandwiched together.

It will possibly hold for long enough for you to get away but wont hold out for ever like bulletproof glass.
