Grenades

against both humans and possibly even zombies or infected individuals grenades would possibly be a good asset to have. Especially if you have a large horde closing in on your fort grenades would be able to dismenmber there limbs slowing down undead zombies. Also against infected individuals or as you may call them Ragers they will also be good since there still humans and can die from human injurys like a bullet in the heart or being dismembered. So in conclusion wether its a molotov or a Pipebomb grenades would still be an effective weapon to have

Dragonvilla4, let me first welcome you to the ZSDW. We're glad you're here.Second of all, I agree, grenades would be fantastic to have to use against both zombies and humans. Nothing says "Die" like a hand-tossed potato masher or pineapple. That being said, grenades will be virtually impossible to obtain post Z-Day, as they are virtually impossible to obtain now. You're probably not going to stumble upon any while headed to your remote country fortress... it might be better to develop a plan around what you can do and use, rather than hoping for grenades. Maybe there's a way to make your own? Do you find this valuable? |

"Dragonvilla4, let me first welcome you to the ZSDW. We're glad you're here.i just said that you should make grenade pipebombs are good but normally you cant have any other way to make them explode except a fuse unless you know how to make stuff explode with a cellphone or cooking timer? also molotovs could be very effective since if you burn a body it gets rid of most bacteria and diseases in the body. Maybe so, maybe not. Personally, I don't like the idea of zombies on fire; that seems like it would be a fire hazard that might come back to haunt me. Typically speaking, fire (while flashy and exciting) is something you want to avoid when fire departments aren't up and functioning. I don't know about you, but I'd be upset if my home base was set on fire by a zombie that I set on fire!

That could make people sick from going near them also they probably would stink like hell. Do you find this valuable? |

DV, you've got a few posts here that cross several topics, so I'll summarise each oneGrenades:- If you don't have them pre-Z, you won't have them post-Z. Molotov:- Fire + Zombie = Fire Zombie. They don't feel pain, so they will wander around for several minutes, setting fire to everything as they do so. Pipebombs:- Only as a last resort, unless you are an explosives expert now. Z-day will be no fun with only one hand. Who is going to open the jars for you? Fighting tanks:- why? What scenario would necessitate that? Why wouldn't you just run away from the tanks? Burning bodies:- Depends on the scenario. They might be contagious, so you need to dispose of them, and fire is a good way. But if they aren't contagious, then you would do better to bury them. Good fertilizer. Do you find this valuable? |

Wire some pipebombs as a trap, somehow. Thats pretty much all I can think of, seeing as they are rare now, it'll be just as bad Post Z-day.

Pipebobs are very easy to make if you know wat your doing im saying this from personell experience. Ive been fooling around with explosives since i was about 9 and im 14 now going to be 15 so i have at least experience with homemade bombs but nothing like claymores and C4. sadly i cant make mines but i know how to make victum initiated traps and even have a few ideas for some

Well, in terms of improvised hand grenades, I've liked one particular method.Hand grenades from roughly WW1 to early Vietnam had a body made of cast iron, which is heavy and fairly brittle. They used a modified form of smokeless powder, "EC powder" to detonate it. You don't need a particularly strong explosive to detonate that kind of grenade. It's nice, because you can pour a mold of cast iron, lead or whatnot, spray paint it, and fill with a very simple compound, though you'd also need to insulate it to prevent static discharge. As for detonators, you could make a functioning spoon and all, but anything so complex would be a waste of effort and material. I'd personally have the body threaded, and have a screw-on fuse with a all weather match, possibly welded in place, then capped to protect the match and double as a striker. Pipe bombs can work well, but you gotta make them out of plastic explosive to be any good - and that needs blasting caps. All in all, pretty dangerous, complex work. Do you find this valuable? |

But let's look at it like this folks. If Zs Could feel pain that sucker would be even BETTER than a grenade! John: Could you embed ball bearing or glass in it? Do you find this valuable? |
