Ranged Weapons in Holland.

I've searched this, without many results, so forgive me if I have missed something.I live in Holland, strict weapon laws... seeing I'm under-aged I'll have no chance on getting a decent fire arm that can take out a zed when I have to. I was wondering, is there any kind of ranged (Not a bow, it needs so much practice to be used effectively, and ammo is limited.) that would be easy to get when hell breaks open. Or that I could get before. I just need something to take down a zombie before he can get too close. Thanks for the answers! Do you find this valuable?

although you said bow, you could still try to get a crossbow, it's simple, often has an easy to use, easy to adjust scope like a rifle, and accuracy that's usually dependable (depends what kind you can get). although you only get one shot...

I'll have to look up if it is legal, it might count as a firearm for its lethality.Looked it up... Crossbows, swords, daggers, BB guns are all illegal. Strangely enough bows aren't, but if this thing hits within 4-8 years all I can do is wait a few months and hope that the police station hasn't been pillaged yet. Do you find this valuable? |

There isn't anything wrong with a good 'ol bow.Sure, it takes a little more skill than a firearm, but it is a very usefull skill. For starters, your pecks and back mussles would be solid. And it's a fun hobby. Bows are great weapons. They can be deadly accurate. My dad put 6 in such a tight group that they were cutting the fletching. And this was at 60+ yards! Of course, he started young. But it's a nice demonstration of what bows are capible of. They are great for hunting everything from bears, to cats (it was an accident, I swear), and even a rabbit (Dad tryed it before. Funny as hell). In modern combat, the bow is outdated. However, if you keep a low profile and avoid unnecessary fights, you should come out fine. You should have no problem taking out a zed with a modern bow. Most bows can hold several arrows right on the side of the bow, and a good quiver can hold a ton more. Another plus, is that arrows are reuseable a couple times. And if worse comes to worse, you can make your own with some practice, and trial and error. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Who the f*ck is going to attack someone shooting 300fts BB's?"It looks like a gun, therefor you could fool... ah who are they kidding, I don't know -.- Anyway, I found out that I can legally practice shooting, with a permit (I don't get why I need a permit to not own a gun though.) I just hope I can afford that. I could use a hobby anyway, so I might as well join an archery! My bow is 'modern' ish, but pretty standard. It came with 3 arrows, and it tends to shoot to the right. But it is a nice skill to have, and if I ever manage to be able to make my own arrows... yeah, that could work! Thanks for the answers, far as I know I can prepare, just not get some weapons (If I find a place to practice it could be a way of obtaining a gun too though, when they're gone that is...) Do you find this valuable? |

I'm impressed actually, how did you learn Dutch? Edit: My English might seem good, but that's mainly because my girlfriend is English, and I get corrected quite alot. I also avoid words if I doubt it is the real spelling. English is somewhat of a thing for me, I love it, and I want it to be as good as possible! Sorry, I thought he meanth a country by Az, got me a tag confused. Do you find this valuable? |

Before airsoft and paintball were real common that's pretty much what we did. My friend though has a German made pellet rifle that will send a .177 caliber lead pellet downrange at 1300-1400 FPS (Better than some .22LR rounds), it's no joke. And a lot of the pellet guns you can buy at WallyWorld can get up to and over 1000 FPS. Do you find this valuable? |

Ah... now I understand why they're illegal in Holland...I found out that there are around 8 shooting ranges nearby, will look into them! Seeing I'm a cheap these days, I'll probably join an archery, but still. Do you find this valuable? |

Okay, I've decided that I shall look into some of the shooting ranges, they seem to be quite near my home, and to practice my bow on my own (I have a field nearby that I can use for longer range practice.)Thanks for the input guys, it really makes me feel better knowing I can at least prepare on this thing!
