i had an idea the other day

the other day i was thinking other places to survive and it struck me, i saw a very big tent (how many people it fits i can't remember) but it was more than enough for storage sleeping and a main area it had two corridors i was thinking if i could pitch that on the roof of a tower stock it up with food and a helluver lot of ammunition with a silenced barret 50. cal would that not make an amazing killing/living post?send me problems, thoughts, improvements so the updated version after listening to you guys secure the top floor of a tower block (there are several near where i live) remove as many obstructions as possible (after getting supplies up) setting aside a small living space out of the way and only use the barret for special purposes untill then find another gun? and yes i was fully aware that suppresors/silencers don't make the typical pew noise that every video game leads you to beleive but i'd would attract slighlty less zeds at a time making my job safer and easier if this were to happen. better? hey this is an edit for the people calling me barret call me james instead if you'd prefer. also thank you everyone who contributed to this it was very helpful Do you find this valuable? |

1st of all: A big tent isnt gonna save you when the raiders come. 2nd of all: Good luck finding a tower. and lastly on a side note: I have a friend who has a Gold Plated Desert Eagle with a SILENCER on it( It means a mini-katana bayonet that . Extended 10000 round clip.) Ok, anyways, If you're expecting that supressor to do much you're sadly mistaken, Barrett's are loud. A tube of metal will not make the typical "pew" noise. When it's on a barrett, you still might go deaf if you fire with no ear protection. Its a loud gun. 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Agreed on the suppressor. They only really work on subsonic ammunition (i.e. NOT the .50 BMG.) Also, do you know how much the tent weighs? @Ninja: By "tower" I think he means a skyscraper, which, last time I checked, were pretty common. If that is the case, though, Barrett, why not just live on the top floor? Do you find this valuable? |

He might also mean water tower. But pass on the Barret, I doubt silencing would make a huge difference. And I hope you can afford all that ammo. Do you find this valuable? |

"He might also mean water tower.Actually they do make suppressors for the .50 BMG rifles. These cans eliminate muzzle flash and takes quite a bit of sound off the report of the rifle. If you were going to fire off that anti-tank cannon all day...I would want to put a suppressor on it as well. http://guns.connect.fi/rs/btxgraaf.html I think the tent idea is a bad one as well. A tent will not stop incoming gunfire or actual fire. What about the elements. Will a tent stand up to a good storm on the top of a tower? Do you find this valuable? |

Tents are prone to wind, sun, and wear damages that will cause leaks, and severe rips and tears. Leave the .50 for special purposes, or you will regret it with a bad shoulder. Do you find this valuable? |

if you're looking to grab a good rifle with large range I suggest an M14 that's scoped, an M40, the Bundeswehr G22, Springfield, L96A1, Dragunov SVD, Scoped Israeli Galil, Beretta M501, Swedish PSG-90, the list goes on.the ammo isn't plentiful and it adds weight, along with the cumbersome nature of the Barrett as was mentioned before, and it's expensive I'm not a sniper guy so the other members can give you better suggestions than what I gave Do you find this valuable? |

There is also the major problem of your tent being easy to destroy. If it's a newer tent made out of synthetic materials and it catches on fire, well it's like being napalmed. Edit: Oh and "barret zombie bane" what model Barret do you have? Do you find this valuable? |

The M40 (and the Army M24) is really a modified Remington 700. My buddy got a nice 700 (With scope) for about $500. Do you find this valuable? |

My sniper rifle of choice is the nerf longshot. With it in hand I am hell come to earth. With the steady hands of a professional I can put a nerf dart in your eye and make it water. Tremble before me. Muhahahahahahaha!

I'm so mad every time I walk by the toy aisle and see the awesome nerf guns they have now. When I was a kid they sucked, now you've got chain fed nerf machine guns, scoped nerf sniper rifles...I feel cheated. Do you find this valuable? |

He prefers spray and pray and I like to get him from a distance. You're lucky you had nerf guns we just had to throw rocks at each other. My brother Patch wishes we would have had nerf guns. Belt fed nerf guns, an airsoft vulcan minigun? I remember when a stick in the back yard was my rifle, if you saw the person that said bang, you were dead, until your medic (mom) came to fix you up. Then we were back to "trench warfare".

If he's known as "Patch" for wearing one then I can understand why he wishes you had nerf guns :)

Hey, my friends and I used to have wars with 'em all the time. You know the longshot rifle? I painted it black, and attached shell holders and a mag coupling to it. Also, I took the top of the crossfire gun, and attached it to the handguard (so I could attach the Maverick revolver to it. Do you find this valuable? |
