There must be nothing in the water
Aug 13 2010, 9:17 AM EDT | Post edited: Aug 13 2010, 9:17 AM EDT
If a zombie outbreak comes i will runaway to the hundred islands in philippines, it has 100 islands when its low tide and 70 islands if its high tide. Each Island is filled with various birds such as quails, sea gulls, and hawks. the water around is tropical which serves a vast amount of edible fish. So its probably safe, hope i dont stay in the island that submerges in high tide Do you find this valuable?

Well, Just go and don't get on an island, then wait for it to go to high tide and see the islands that are left, then go on one of those

how long do the tides take to go in and out. just go on the island with a ton of vegetation, I don't think stuff grows submerged.
Just elaborate more on this plan, how are you getting to these islands? do you own a boat? will you be taking survivors?

This.

You can't just take a few days of stiff hiking to the Philippines. You can't even take your average fishing boat, even the larger ones, across the Pacific (Assuming you live in the US.), it would run out of fuel way short.

You know what happens when you assume.

But am afraid that I in turn assumed that he lives in the area since he is familiar with the fauna of said islands.

and if you are going to use a ship post apocalypse you wont use a motor boat. they are called sails. Before they discovered that black stuff in the ground these things could take you to any coast in the world.
Jules verne said in one of his books that ships are amazing because a ship could take you from london to the coast of australia in a matter of weeks but it takes years to reach the center of the very same continent.

Yes, I did think about him using a sail boat, but I also assumed that he did not have the know-how to sail, because he did not specify. Please, don't pull the "ass out of you and me" card, assuming is fine when you don't rely on it. I'm not going to cry if he comes up and says "I can sail fine.", so it's all good.

heres a quick info about the island:
The Hundred Islands National Park (Pangasinan: Kapulo-puloan or Taytay-Bakes) is in the province of Pangasinan in northern Philippines. It is located in Alaminos City, Pangasinan. The islands (124 at low tide and 123 at high tide) are scattered along Lingayen Gulf and cover an area of 18.44 square kilometres (4,557 acres). They are believed to be about two million years old. Only three of them have been developed for tourists: Governor Island, Quezon Island, and Children's Island. The islands are actually ancient corals that extend well inland, in an area previously comprising the seabed of an ancient sea. Lowering sea levels have exposed them to the surface and the peculiar "mushroom"-like shapes of some of the islands have been caused by the eroding action of the ocean waves.

That quote reminds me of another I heard awhile back.
"Oceans are the oldest highways in the world."

What about supplies? Do you plan on stockpiling them? How much do you know about Island survival? How do you plan on getting to these Islands? Do you plan on hijacking a boat? What about someone else who already had your idea? What about ship wreck survivors who accidentally washed up onto the island? What if those people are infected?

All of these are questions that you need to take into account when revising this plan.

It takes from 5 hours to get to the island from my town, plus almost all of us depends on fishing so we all have boats, the ocean is abundant with fishes and other edible things. In case of a shipwreck with zombies incident there are other 99 islands to choose from, but still this is just a plan Do you find this valuable?
