Swimming with Uncle Sam

This plan is for people who live in Connecticut, Rhode Island, and states in this area. This plan has people go to the New London Naval Base.
Step 1. Get some weapons (stockpiled or at the store) and some supplies
Step 2. Get in your car or steal one ;) and use your GPS and bring up the New London Naval Base
Step 3. Get there and try and find some naval personal that not infected, use the submarines as a base (because they’re under water tanks) and once a week, go out in a large group to find supplies
--- If there are no naval personal or submarines, then they had the right idea, you’ll have to camp nearby and wait till they return for supplies

Ui know there are a lot of problems with this plan, and please help us by posting some options or stuff to fix this plan.

ok lets fix this plan, don't go to the naval base. If I were one of the personell I would ask some guys to stay and help defend the place, as I know that it will help us survive, then you come along and try and gain control, I'd prolly just shoot you (not being a dick or anything).

Nextly you put get some weapons, the first part which was stockpilled is good, then at the store just broke it. (Cue Panic link).

although assuming you got to the base and killed all the infected personell leaving the entire base for you. what makes you think that nobody else will come to the base? even if you lock up everything you may have a bunch of people banging on the gates wanting to come in.

I'd suggest staying in your house, then maybe go to the naval base, but look around to see any signs of life, if not, gather a group and scout the area, then go in. If its occupied, move on.

Yes but at your home, if you live in rural conn., it could be miles from everything, so you would have to go somewhere, and the naval base is just one option, because there aren't many fortified bases in Conn. this is someones best bet. Most people here are nice so it could make a nice little community, revive the human race and all that. Do you find this valuable?

I'm pretty sure not everyone will be entirely nice to each other, while trying to survive. Its also everyones best bet, you might get caught up in the panic or a stampede and be killed. Plus If you have a family you gotta think about them aswell.
Anyway, all the niceness will change once you move from the area.

Maybe, but this is just my first plan, but I think it will be a 50/50 idea, the points you point out and the ones i put on the table make it a good argument, what do other people have to say? Do you find this valuable?

*Ahem* Welcome to the site Tao! I hope you like it here, and I'm sure you will. I would advise you to read Maricely's ultimate Newbie guide before continuing.

Also be sure to look at some of our senior member's plans to get an idea of what a really good plan looks like!

The way I would fix this plan is by starting over from the beginning. Here are some points:

1. Going to a military base is potentially a very dangerous thing to do. If they lock down the base, they'll shoot anyone who tries to get in. Or worse, if the base is already infected, you'll just be heading towards a huge horde of zombies.

2. There aren't going to be free weapons lying around or waiting for you in a store.

3. You're not going to steal a car, because it isn't like in GTA. If someone is in the car they'll defend themselves and their property. If there's no one in the car, how are you going to start it? And streets will probably be gridlocked with people trying to get out of town.

4. The military personnel is not going to allow civilians into submarines. If there was no one around and you somehow got into a submarine by yourself, you still wouldn't know how to operate it.

I encourage you to read the link provided, and all the links provided on that page, especially The Panic.
