First off, I wouldn't advise going to Costco or Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart will get you killed (See the page titled that) and Costco will be just as bad. Hitting up gun shops/ sporting good stores will be bad as well, looters/everyone alive will go there for equipment (Or take over the place) and if the owner is there they might just blow a hole clear through you regardless.

why not get the items before hand, then when SHTF you'll be all ready to head upto your ski lodge or whatever. preperation is vital in this kind of situation
