Simple Napalm Recipe
Aug 27 2010, 5:51 PM EDT
Take your wife's scented bathroom candles (the kind that come in a jar) and gently set them into a pan of boiling water. When the wax melts, pluck out the wicks, and then start adding sawdust to each of the candles until you have a 1-1 ratio of wax and saw dust

that sounds more like the fire starters we made last winter, and posting explosive recipes is generally frowned upon look up "homemade napalm" on youtube you'll get a thousand recipes which are better than this one 5 out of 6 found this valuable. Do you? |

The wax is not flammable to begin with [ other wise it would ignite when you lit the candle ] , how would adding saw dust make it more flammable ? Have you actually tried this or is this something that just came to you while taking a bath? Supposedly soap flakes disolved in Gasoline works but I have no experance 1 out of 3 found this valuable. Nowhere close to napalm. Nice try, though. palmitic and naphthenic acids (hence NA-PALM) are what make up the true agent. Even colloquially the term is used for jellied fuels. Why do people think anything that burns is napalm? It annoys me. 1 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

Because the A-Team is real, Airwolf was a documentary, and "my brothers friend's cousin, who, like, totally did this once" is a valid source.

Not even remotely effective. When working with fire best to go with tried and true mixes. Supposedly "napalm" can be made out of gasoline with styrafoam dissolved inside. Might be true. Might not be. I'll stick with black powder in a clay pot TYVM. Do you find this valuable? |

Sawdust and wax would make a great firestarter, but I don't think it's going to work like napalm.

"Homemade Bombs ftw."It's been demonstrated for centuries that confining explosive compounds increases the power. With clay you get shrapnel and you can embed peices of metal or whatever for even more pain. The detonation system will be through a fuse. Not as reliable as other methods but I'm no electrician so there's a danger of setting it off prematurely with electronic switches. And no man likes things going off prematurely. ~~Assuming I actually use an explosive that is.~~ Do you find this valuable? |

"It's just another garbage recipe that someone blanketed with the napalm label. Gas & styrofoam gives you a flammable putty like substance that burns for quite awhile, but it doesn't really "jelly." It's more like a slimy pizza dough. Fun, but not really useful for anything. Other thoughts: I have to wonder, with the number of people proposing "recipes" for napalm, how many folks have a legitimate use for it besides it being "cool" to talk about. Even if I had barrels of 'bona fide' Napalm sitting in my living room, I wouldn't know what to do with it. Why would you want this stuff anyway? A molotov will do everything you need it to and more. Why the need for a long-lasting, high-temp oil burn? 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

"It's just another garbage recipe that someone blanketed with the napalm label.Personally speaking having been burned before I'm steering clear of it. Burns +infection = nearly dead Carnack and from what I hear burns can take infection like mad which makes it scary as hell with no antibiotics. As to long-burning burn how long are we talking? ~~I'm now thinking of non-weapon applications.~~ 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |
