Pittsburgh Rally Point
Aug 28 2010, 2:25 PM EDT | Post edited: Aug 28 2010, 2:25 PM EDT
Hey ya'll, Rocketman here. I live a good distance Northeast of Pittsburgh, and have a large scale plan in the works.
http://www.zombiesurvivalwiki.com/page/Rocketman%27s+Survival+Plan

Come Z-day, I'll be bringing a group of survivors down the Allegheney River. Once the main fortress has been established, we should be able to support hundreds of people.
http://www.zombiesurvivalwiki.com/page/Rocketman%27s+Shore+Fortress

I would be happy to have anyone along. If you are intrested let me know.
If I find enough support and intrest in this thread, I will start a page for an actual rally point, somewhere (most likely a little Southwest) around Pittsburgh. Once we have a few people intrested, we'll work out exactly where to meet.

I plan on going to college in The Pitt, so if the sh!t hits the fan while I'm there, I'll be glad to team up with you. Though, it would suck to see my hometown become a rot hole. :(

I'm around 45 miles south-west of Pitt. I have a few spots planned out between here and there, but if we happen to end up talking on here, and our plans jive together ok, maybe we could work something out with a few modifications.

I'm not suggesting you take over my group, or I take over yours, but it's be good for all if we traveled together for a bit, or I could stop over and help you out on my way to my BOL. Let me know what you think.

@Drak: Cool, sounds good. I just been waiting for a little more response.

@ Loki: You probably wont run into us by chance, unless youre on the riverfront, causa my plan. If we were to meet, it would have to be planned out.

If I could run into you by accident in my travels, then I probably wouldn't WANT to be around that group...lol

We can talk about it. my BOL involves me traveling a fair distance, unless yours is better,/already set up, I'd probably continue on after a bit. It would make sense to have a safe location closer to where I'm going while I rally up to get to mine. We can talk, and plan. No sense in me just going from scratch on my own.

Alright guys. I haven't directly told anyone, but ya'll would have a spot in my place if you'd like.

As for a rally point: With this small of numbers (3 replies), it'd be simpler to have you show up at the base itself, if you so choose (If you have other plans, fine by me) rather than an external Rally Point.

And to anyone who'd want to make it their main plan, let me know.

I'd actually be interested in this. It will probably be my main plan until I can get something stable going, which probably won't be until a good few years into my adulthood. Do you find this valuable?

You're welcome here, WB. If you don't mind me asking, how far would you be traveling? From what state?

I've done some thinking about it, and jumping on with this, makes more sense than what I was trying to do (unless I win the lottery between now and then...hahaha)

I'd love to be a part of this project if you'd have me, and about 11 other able bodies (minus 1, she may be a bit young to do much, she's a year right now). I'm around 40 minutes from the Pitt. area

Hey, Loki, I'd be more than happy to have you along. You're experience and knowledge has already been helpful, in my plan and other aspects. Welcome aboard. :) Do you find this valuable?

Been some changes in the plan.

The first, and largest, is some variations in the barges. I may change the final BOL from Fort Willow to the barges themselves, depending on some experiments I have going on.

However, I spose we'll end up back on shore at some point in time, which would most likely still be Willow.

In any case, I never really gave a definite location as to where ya'll should meet me, did I? Stay tuned, I'm working on it.

Upstate NJ.

I'd say around a 4-5 hours drive, and that's unobstructed pre-disaster. I'll be staying home for a week, give or take a couple days, so I'd give 2 weeks to a month for me to come over.

Alright, good to know. We'll be on the lookout, then, long after the Panic hits.

Feel free to jump on the IRC at some point. Me and Drakk have been talking about possible RVE's in the area, instead of directly heading to the base. Still a couple things to work out, but it's a start.

Hahaha Loki, you're usually on the IRC without any encouragement. I thought, "Hell, if WB is on, Loki will probably be on too." Lol

Here's the main problem:
The barges are close to where I live, and I can get them no-problem. However, getting downriver, what if we run into trouble? If something comes up, if something happens, we might not be able to head south, and have to live on the barges. Or, if we can make it, one might get there before us.

So.... Hm...

I honestly think that, perhaps the best solution to find us, would be to stay mobile, if you can. If we're not at Willow, (Google Earth: Stratton Ohio), then all one would have to do is head upriver, until they were to find us, assuming you can use the locks along the way.

Which also brings up the possibility of other people creating a "Barge Farm" in other locations, upriver, downriver, on other rivers, etc....
