Snow plows.

I'm not talking about a pick up with a plow on the front i mean a huge steel dump truck with plow on front. Anyone who lives in an area with heavy snow fall knows what i'm talking about. They are tall, heavily armored, huge carrying capacity ( as long as there is no rock salt in the back you could carry anything you need), set up right you could carry both things and people in the back, and it can mow through hordes of undead. Granted it's loud but if you have that big of a hulk you don't have to worry about attracting zombies. Also most run on disel which would probably be the only thing left when you got to the gas station.

What rounds have you fired at one of these trucks to see how armored it is?I'm guessing that anything bigger than a 9mm would penetrate. Do you find this valuable? |

In his defense those trucks would be easily armored. Fuel and comfort would be my major issues. It would be a solid platform for modification though.

There won't be anything left when you go to the gas station. You will need to get creative when it comes to finding fuel, but diesel I bet would be easier to find. I like the snow plow concept better than the bus idea I hear alot on this site. Tougher, more ground clearance, equipped with plow, and I believe most are six wheel drive. As far as heavy trucks go, I think a snow plow would be the next best thing to a deuce and a half. Do you find this valuable? |

if it runs on diesel you could always raid a KFC for cooking oil.

My problem is those things are freaking slow. Even without a full load of salt and having the plow up I don't think I've ever seen one going faster than 50.

"They aren't built for speed they are built for power. I don't plan on going to fast going fast is the kind of thing that can get you killed in a post z-day world. Do you find this valuable? |
