Nerf Zombies
Sep 2 2010, 12:59 PM EDT | Post edited: Dec 7 2010, 11:32 AM EST
Last year, a friend of mine was telling me about how he went to sit in a college class to see what it was like (We were seniors). He then proceeded to tell me about the in depth zombie game they played there.

The premise is that you can sign up for either team: Humans or zombies. The humans are allowed to carry an Nerf gun, and must do so at all times. The zombies must simply touch the humans in order to kill them. At the end of the game, you count up your kills and the highest wins.

Whats novel about this game is that it goes constantly. 24/7. For a couple monthes.

In the middle of school, you could be walking down the hall, an average day, heading to your next class, and suddenly find yourself facing several "zombies".

I dont know the specifics - maby each team would wear a colored bracelet to identify? Or maby there would be no identification at all? But I am kind of considering trying to get a group together to try this in my campus. What do you all think?

EDIT: WB, you are correct. It is a Nerf gun. I hadn't realized it was posted wrong.

This is actually REALLY fun to do. I've only played in temporary and small games, but it is also good for training your awareness. Especially in the long term games. At the college I live near the game goes on for a month and there are prizes for being Top Survivor and Top Zombie. 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Just another thought, I wonder how the integration of melee weapons would go. I found some really cool Nerf swords in Walmart a month ago, and me and a friend beat the crap out of each other with them. They didnt hurt a bit. 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I thought it was a nerf gun, not an airsoft gun. I'll bet colleges won't find it amusing when a fourth of their students are carrying toy M4s. 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I don't know about college, but our high school senior class did it with water guns. And it was just human vs human, no zombie implication. I didn't participate because I was not popular back in H.S. Do you find this valuable?

but if you carry nerf guns, nobody will know wether you kill the zombie or not, it will be like little kids playing:
1: You are dead
2: No i'm not

Airsoft is no different. You play by the honor system.

Nerf guns aren't toys that you point at somebody and make a sound effect with your mouth. They shoot foam darts. People can also modify them to shoot much farther than normal, so they don't have a 10ft effective range.

then no problem, its better than running around with an M16 replica (who knows, you can get killed)

airsoft guns usually make peaple say 'ow'. (if you hit them on bare skin)

also we did this in my town it was a sign up for a month and then it started for as long as it lasted. It was human v human and once you were dead you weren't allowed back,

I was killed within the first few days by some guys that teamed up (D=<) but apparantly it was still going for a few monthes because one person who had entered had gone on holiday.

This is brilliant the only guys that survived snuck out of the country and hid or banded together instead of shooting everything that moved alone.

This children is a lesson to us all...

Just to be clear - Nerf, not airsoft or paintball.

Nerf doesnt require safety gear. Theres no "ow" if ya get shot.
Id never use a paintball gun on school property, and if your in high school still, dont even use your fingers. Damn schools freak out when kids mention a gun....

So.. I guess point being I, being a long time player, appreciate the intrest in paintball, but this is ideas for long term Nerf games.
