best buy is a conventional store, very much so, mcdonalds has nothing anyone could conceivably want, except for some of its technbology(and fat conspiracy theorists who are at least mentally prepared for this), and i dont know what a goodwill is, so i cant comment there.

You shouldn't be preparing during the panic. If you think you'll need something, get it NOW. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

"You shouldn't be preparing during the panic.Amen to that Brother 2WS. Let's face it - if you're trying to pull together years worth of training and preparation into the last few hours of the z-pocalypse, you're well on your way to munching the flesh of fellow human types... Start preparing NOW. This can be done with a simple trip to the local Red Cross or community college and enrolling in a First Aid program. Might come in handy... Or, learn a martial art - it's fun, gets you into shape and could give you the edge in a hand-to-hand self defense encounter. If you're of age, consider taking a hunter education course and start hunting. It can be done relatively inexpensively if you're thrifty... Or, visit your local library and start reading about survival, then applying what you learn. Build a lean-to or an A-frame shelter... And, for anyone who hasn't done this - complete a bug out bag! 3 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

it can work to ones advantage, (IF zombies are on the streets) due to the panic and random chaos why would a zombie want to notice me? as long as you keep up a steady pace and not have the misfortune to be hit by a stray bullet or a vehicle of a fleeing person, it can even be safer than being indoors (no small hallways, rooms, or dead ends)

The Panic is looting city, and not just of supplies. Criminals will be running wild and grabbing whatever they can to drive off and sell later. Meaning any store with ANYTHING of value will be attacked.

Don't go out in the panic, people have had worse ideas (ie.Russian Roulette with a semi-auto) by it's just better for you to stay inside and stay safe. Do you find this valuable? |

"(ie.Russian Roulette with a semi-auto)"BRING IT ON! Like everyone else said, prepare before **** goes down, its easier. I'd rather sit in my house waiting for the mass of people to die/disperse than be in the mass of people trying to grab a loaf of bread or whatever. Do you find this valuable? |

The only use for the panic, is to let it sort out the ignorant, know-it-all plans from the intelligent plans from people who can learn.

The point of the preparation is to minimise your risk. If you think being indoors is a risk because of the hallways rooms and dead ends then your location needs a rethink. "The only use for the panic, is to let it sort out the ignorant, know-it-all plans from the intelligent plans from people who can learn."Actually I have been looking at how people currently profit from Panic, uprising and similar situations in the Eastern Bloc, Middle East and Africa. There are two possible opportunities, local and global. Local Panic could be used to your advantage by covering up crime, such as theft (property, land, cash) or destruction of records. Global Panic doesn't have as many opportunites, at least not until society puts itself back together, if that happens. Even things like land-grabs aren't really a problem because the landowners are dead or gone. Do you find this valuable? |

I'd steal the grease traps from fastfood places like Mcdonalds. Make candles out of it, and if your smart enough, make fuel out of it - I'm not so ill stick to the candles.

*Zedshot steals the grease traps from a local fast food joint just as a cop car appears* Hey you! Those grease traps along with their contents are property of JJ Nasties incorporated! It is an unlawful act to remove the contents as all collected grease is property of the manufacturer for the purposes of recycling! *just then Plato's Closet next door was broken into* Hey you, all scuzzy merchandise is property of Plato's Closet, if they can show proof of lawful purchase and tax payments on each article of clothing! ...(is bored... =-_-=) Do you find this valuable? |

"The Panic is looting city, and not just of supplies. Criminals will be running wild and grabbing whatever they can to drive off and sell later. Meaning any store with ANYTHING of value will be attacked."You got that right! Anything that's not nailed down (even these items will disappear eventually) will get jacked like nobodies business. There will be nothing left which is gonna suck royally. Prepare in advance. If this means you can only have 2 or 3 days worth of food, water, drink and other supplies on hand, by ALL MEANS DO IT! I would however encourage at least a full weeks' worth of supplies. Going out when all hell breaks loose is in my opinion, suicide. A) increased risk of contaminating one's self with the Z-virus. (BIG PROBLEM!) B) increased risk of one's house/car/hideout getting raided/looted for supplies. C) increased risk of injuries, exposure to the elements (if this applies i.e. winter, freezing cold, etc.), death, bodily harm, etc. D) increased risk of getting shot (especially south of the border where there are more people with more guns.) "like nobodies business"I have never gotten that saying, there was a radio commercial awhile back that was "Is breaking out like nobodies business" for a car. I thought to myself "If it's nobodies business why should we care?" Do you find this valuable? |

"I have never gotten that saying, there was a radio commercial awhile back that was "Is breaking out like nobodies business" for a car.LOL yeah I know. Point being though, the car(s) will disappear real fast, especially if someone knows its in good running order, expensive (thugs might use that for their... (insert colorful word here)). I doubt it will be easy. The mob mentality will sink in real fast and people go nuts. The PS3 riot video (that this thread is attached to from "The Panic") was a real eye opener. People will panic and this will suck but again, stay indoors so you don't get raided incase people get the idea to start breakin into houses and stuff like that. Do you find this valuable? |
