This is a new area of ZSDW to let you take your hair down and talk about anything. Keep the CoC in mind as it still applies, but the thread will open up for general discussions. Do you find this valuable?

I just today went to Lowe's for the sole purpose of purchasing a crowbar. I decided for a Stanley 36" high carbon steel crowbar. The hex design is slightly uncomfortable for me and it is quite hefty but serves its purpose IMO. Good and sturdy, can deliver a lot of force and to try it out I walked around the store for about an hour holding it and it didn't bother me one bit. I wrapped the handle 3 times with electric tap (prefer over duct tape) to cancel out a little of the recoil when hitting. While many say crowbars are too cumbersome. I found it not to uncomfortable and have yet to see a melee weapon that could last nearly as long as a crowbar(As far as tool-turned-weapons go). For those wanting something similar but smaller with a better blunt edge a fubar would work fine. I personally JB welded a cheap-o hammer inside a short thin iron pipe and wrapped it a few times with the tape and from the tests I've done it can withstand heavy abuse and hasnt bent the pipe or come loose yet. Snazzy little homemade warhammer if I do say so myself :P Do you find this valuable?

I was actually thinking of buying stanley FUBAR over the crowbar, Should I do it? I mean the crowbar is thicker then the FUBAR. Still thinking about since I am pretty sure I have my dads crowbar somewhere, (he had a lot of tools he left for me when he passed away when I was 2) Do you find this valuable?

Compare it to the fireman's axe. They both have their advantages, but you can only carry one. Do you find this valuable?

Those fireaxes you guys have in the USA would be great to have. The ones they have in the UK are smaller one handed axes, the only differance between those and a hatchet is, there is a spike on the back that is designed to punch through double glazeing, but the edge of the axe can go through a fire door with some effort

Crowbars are a great tool, but i wouldnt trust my life to one. I personaly would rather have something that was designed to be a weapon in my hand.

This gives new meaning to "Walmart will kill you" those security doors can'y stand up. Halligans rock like war-hammers too. I want every scrounger in my colony to have one of these.
