Countries most likely to survive Ranking
Sep 12 2010, 1:43 AM EDT
I realize that some of the threads discussing this topic do not include all factors that allows a country to survive a zombie apocalypes. People only consider gun stockpile, terran and military. The factors they left out are civilian experience with weaponry, population density, terran survival skills and effectiveness of government. The most popular countries listed already are Russia, US, Britan, and Norway but Im not really sure about those countries except norway I would like a new page for the perhaps top 5 countries that can surive a zombie apocalypes with all factors. My canidates are Switzerland and Canada as the top ones 1.Switzerland - Terran are Alpine, Forest, Mountains and several bodies of water. Good since entrance for zombies are limited. All civilians including female are taught how to use a gun and every family owns 1 or more firearm. A good size military, 240,000 strong, to protect a small country. Country is full of shelters systems enough for the population. The land has a lot of wild game and is good for small farms. The country has many renewable energy sources planted all over. Government is governing a small 7 million people population which wont be hard work. Country has weapon and emergency supply stockpiles. 2. Canada - Large amount of rural area for surviving population to disperses into and slows down undead movement. Wilderness does include wild animals to hunt. Forest which can be used to build defence in rural area. Parts of the population are familiar with hunting which is firearm experience and survival skills. Cold winter which can freeze the undead and allows a few month of peace for the population. Cons include very small army to protect population and weapon stockpile is ranked average. Government effectiveness is questionable. 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I would like to propose Israel as no. 3 at the very least. pros of Israel include A high amount of military training for most if not all the population, a warlike position and mentality as it is, and walls and fortifications already available. Besides that, its a rather small country, and wont hold a huge amount of zombies.

Australia and Newzealnd are in a good position come Z-day, but i doubt they will remain as a country, just more of the population will be left alive. Thisi s because the fact that Bith countris are Islands. Australia has a low population density. Lots of outback country. Do you find this valuable? |

New Zealand is in the best position by far, the terrain is diverse, the population low. South Island is (helpfully) cold in the winter. But the biggest advantage are the people, the calmest, most capable and adaptable folk I've ever met! Agreeing, though with Carnack, no Nation-state will survive. But island status isn't the point, Japan and Britain are islands and I'd rate their chances as low and almost zero respectively. Do you find this valuable? |

I definetely agree that Switzerland will be in the top 5 at the very least. They have massive underground fallout shelters capable of holding 112% of its population for up to 2 years. Plus, all men have military training. Carnack, if all goes to plan Switzerland as a nation could survive if all goes to plan. I doubt the government would prepare for a nuclear war without being able to retake control after its clear to re-emerge :) Do you find this valuable? |

"Any country that is an island has a better than even chance."Your including Britain in that? With its absurdly dense population centers, its highly advanced (unsustainable) agricultural techniques. It's urbanized neurotic population, most of whom couldn't grow a daisy these days and who think everything that isn't a Champignon mushroom is a toadstool. I suggest a country with one of the most developed food distribution systems in the world (dominated by a handful of companies) would be among the first to crash and burn! Nothing wrong with optimism though Do you find this valuable? |

I agree with franklee over here we depend on companies to import food to much, Actually most countries now adays. Anyway just cos its an island doesn't meen its separate from over countries e.g. france through the underground railways, France is connected to europe, Europe is really big. So even if it didn't start in britian it would end up here. Do you find this valuable? |

Geographically, England could fare better than Europe, provided it reacted quickly and correctly. And there it falls down. That's why I intend to go to one of the Caribbean islands. The Cannel tunnel is a very large security hole. So is the dithering of those in charge. First sign of trouble, I'm out. Do you find this valuable? |

1) Any third world nation that still has a primitive population. 2) Any nation isolated by geography. 3) Any militant nation already "cut off" from the rest of the world. (Iran, North Korea, Cuba) 4) Any area where there is an agricultural heritage and more guns than people. 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

But consider Eire, a smaller country with smaller cities, much better rural/urban balance, much less unicrop megafarm stuff and a population that's. . .how to say this. . . comfortable with violence. Well you know what I mean if you've kicked around with the paddys! (no offense lads, your mothers 'd be proud 'a yer'all) Channel Tunnel? Said this elsewhere, I've very good reason to believe that Britain, France and NATO all have the means of closing it very quickly. Do you find this valuable? |

Everyone in Norway would die or be zombies.. but we who prepare now will survive! I have talked with alot of people about when the infrastructre of our country will collapse, may it be Zombieoutbreak or not.. how the prepare and what they will do when SHTF. They are like sheeps! Everyone says.. i will go to the store to get some food. And then i say: Well the shop is closed and its been raided for everything exect some toiletpaper in the back. And then they are like.. well that will never happend! And then i start laughing. Because people are ignorant and they think that water, food, safety will allways be there and the gouverment will take care of them allways.

Ou position may have saved us from the zeds, but unless the Yanks start up the Atlantic convoys again we'd simply starve. Do you find this valuable? |
