i read over what little there was on hunting. its OK but it needs to be more. A page dedicated to the different widely used Traps needs to be added as well as how to construct them. trapping is 10 percent skill and 100 percent luck so knowing how to make a good trap is a great benefit. Second, some people (my self included) know how to hunt for small game and birds, but have no idea how to prepare them for eating/cooking. any amount of info on this subject would be extremely beneficial. 0  out of 1 found this valuable. You are correct about it needing to be updated. I've talked with John on the matter and if someone else doesn't make it before I do, I'm going to tackle the hunting and trapping pages when season comes around.
Can't go hunting and trapping out of season and having my stuff seized forever, now can I?
Both seasons come around in about 3 weeks, so I'm working up a plan and I'm getting my digital camera and extra batteries sorted. A picture is worth a thousand words, y'know.

That sounds like a great idea!

@mr_nice_guy228, I've hunted a little bit of everything in my day but quail and rabbit hunting is most likely my specialty. If you need any added info on bird dogs or beagles drop me a PM and I'll see what I can add.

I don't know if you've looked around the photos, but there's one squirrel I killed just to see what sort of reasonable accuracy I could get with the pistol grip on a moving object. Success! 30~ odd yards. I'd have got pictures of skinning but it's still early in the season, so they are tough and hard to skin.
It's like the old saying, "There's more than one way to skin a cat".
So long as you get the skin off and get the animal gutted, everything is fine. Doesn't matter where you start. I will see about getting some pictures of the next critters I kill. I've been running out the door every time I hear a crow, but I'm having trouble getting one because they're too smart for their own good.

I'll be sure to have Squirrel, Deer, and Crow information. I'll try my best for Rabbit but they're few and far between this year, Coyotes must be eating them all. That's another thing I'll have to get some pictures and stuff on, Predator hunting.

Timberrattler, I've never liked hunting with dogs because of trigger happy folks. Only dog hunting I liked was borrowing some Beagles for rabbits one season. Though if I get another dog, it's going to be a small breed dog for rabbits. I'll keep you all updated on the progress.
