About some of the gas mileage figures....

I'd like to point out about this article, That quads and dirtbikes generally get poor mileage because they're made for high performance, high-revving, low geared. In stock form, you aren't going to get over 20 miles/gallon from them...
I would also like to point out, that my GSXR600 averages about 55 miles per gallon, and I've got as high as 67 in perfect conditions on freeway trips.
My CBR1000 (RIP) got an average of 50, and I never really took it on any long trips to see what the best that I could get was.
Now my Yamaha Warrior 350 quad, gets a rough 15. Top speed is 85~ mph, because of tall tires and factory gearing. You can squeeze more out of them by gearing them higher, but then you lose the low-end oomph.
My CR85 Expert big-wheel model, factory gearing, factory jetting got about 30 at highway speeds. Being a 2 stroke it was a low maintenance ride. A bigger dirtbike, 250 2-stroke or a 450 4-stroke only gets about 15-18 miles per gallon.
People that say "Oh I can ride trails all day on a tank of gas" don't realize it takes a lot longer to go XX amount of miles on the trails, than it does on the highway.

Todays portion of "And now you know..." brought to you by, mr_nice_guy228. ;)
