just a new thread to ask all of you your opinions as to what would be your weapon(s) of choice if you were so unlucky as to be caught up in an N4 viral outbreak.in this thread, choose three weapons: a main weapon, sub weapon, and a close-quarters/melee weapon, and state why you would choose these weapons as your weapon(s) of choice. mine would be as follows: 1.) main weapon:switched from aks-74u to UMP .40 submachine gun (also about 5lbs and set on semi- automatic) and here's proof that it has a semi-auto function: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heckler_%26_Koch_UMP 2.) sub weapon: 9mm handgun 3.) melee: high tempered steel trench shovel what about you all? 1 out of 4 found this valuable. Just for a regular setup I would have to go with these options bc not only do I own them but also bc of reliablity, space, and weight.22LR Lever Action rifle with multiple bricks of ammo 45acp SigP220 Tomahawk I would use the .22 for Zeds...the Sig for thieves/raiders...and the tomahawk for miscellaneous and to conserve ammo. 3 out of 3 found this valuable. *begins dancing wildely in a Marriot dressed like Christopher Walken.*Oh...wait, wrong kind of Weapon of Choice. Main: Mossberg 500 Sidearms: SFA 1911 .45 ACP and S&W 586 .357. Melee: Ka-Bar and a stick. The Mossberg, 1911, and S&W are all time-proven, working guns, with enough power and availability of ammunition to get anything done. Also, do you currently have and AK-74? you mean the aks-74u. it's a compact version of the ak-74. i don't own one as of late. but I got to shoot one at a demo that was at a shooting range where I used to live. it's not too heavy, i'd have to say about 5lbs. but this weapon is easy to use, highly reliable, has simple construction, and i think can be fitted with a suppressor, maybe a grenade launcher, not sure though =3. but yes. it seems I've bit my tongue on making my selection of firearm for my main weapon. although i'd have to say, although the aks-74u is a very efficient zombie killing weapon, but ammo availibility would be an issue. my mistake. o_-

Combat Shotgun or Auto Shotgun upgraded(if possible)to 20 rounds holding capacity, backed up by dual desert eagle or magnum pistols(semi) and a machete or katana and a mask.1.Combat or Auto Shotguns are very good in Z-Day,cause they can keep on shooting, till 10 or 20 rounds, better the pump action. 2.Dual pistols are to back up the shotgun in case there's no ammo or while reloading(when there's no zombies) 3.Machete's or Katana's are extremely reliable in a zombie apocalypse since they dont need reloading, and they're quite good in repelling zombies 4.Mask is for the blood thats gonna splash, for not getting infected 5.Also another suggestion,a full plate armor on the whole body,is very much recommended and will be used by me,very reliable and a step forward into not getting infected. Ow,nice thread by the way :) 3 out of 10 found this valuable. Do you? |

"Main weapon: Remington 700 .308what kind of shovel? I hope the handles not too long, or else it could limit your attack speed. but besides that, good choices. a shotty is a great crowd stopper. and is powerful at close range. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

However, the best weapon is always the one you have. You've got a...what?...one in 1000 chance of coming across one (with about a one in 10,000 of finding one with a suppressor or grenade launcher.) Do you have any experience with it? TechCity, are you joking or being serious? Do you find this valuable? |

Here's all I need for a Z-day loadout: a semi-auto .22 mag rifle (my main), Springfield Model 1903A4 Sniper Rifle or just an A3 (secondary or Sniper Rifle), a .22 LR Ruger pistol, a machete or two, a hammer for general use, and a combat knife.

"Yeah, that's what I meant.that's true, the best weapon is always one that you've got. and yes, I do have some experience with the aks-74u because as I've stated before, i have shot one at a military weapons demo at a shooting range where I used to live. let me tell u about it: what they do is they ask you for your ID and they frisk you. if you are at least 18, they let you shoot a full clip for a $29.99 admission fee, then you go inside, there are armed officers all around the premises, that are under the order to shoot to kill. (they tell you about what your rights to admission entail, they tell you that if you are a legal adult, and if you are a threat to the safety and wellfare of the people on the premises, they will shoot you as a last resort. also, they told me that if you steal a firearm, that is theft of govt property, and is a federal offence that can result to a minimum of 50yrs in federal prison. furthermore, you have the right to shoot in the bullet proof glass box that they put you in until the clip is empty, then you can leave, or watch the others if you wish. and help yourself to the smorgasboard. Nice.To be honest, I was trying to make sure you had experience with the gun outside of video games. No offense meant; it's just that the gun is in a lot of games, similar to the AK. Good to know that you've used it :) Do you find this valuable? |

"Nice.thanx. to tell you the truth, there is a huge difference between sitting in front of a screen, and shooting people on the screen...and then there's holding and shooting a gun for real. that was immensly satisfying to shoot the firearm and for it to hit near the center of the target. =3 Do you find this valuable? |
