A might outdated

I didn't want to modify the article, but I'd like to point out that the MREs you picked were last-generation. I haven't seen them, and my platoon sergeant hasn't seen them for a while. The new ones kept the same case/entree designations, but modified the contents.
There are no forks any more. It's all spoons. It's crap, yes. Coffee isn't included in all meals anymore, sometimes it is replaced by either tea, or cider mixes. Only some come with tobasco now, and they use two kinds at that. Several of the meals come with an entree and a side, PLUS all the extra stuff. Sides are usually fruit, macaroni, rice, or mashed potatoes. The extras have expanded. Quite a few of the meals come with various pound cakes, muffin tops, all kinds of cookies, and even candies you would recognize today like M&Ms or Skittles. One or two even have Twizzlers.

Not all of them even have bread anymore. They have AT LEAST crackers, though. They have two kinds of crackers, though I can't really taste a difference in them.
The cheese spread now has plain, w/ jalapenos, and w/ bacon.
They have two kinds of juices. Carbohydrate powders, and drink bases. The only difference I could see or taste was one is in a bigger bag.
Other drinks available are Dairyshakes. They are nasty, in my opinion, and not particularly good for you in the heat. They also have vanilla pudding.

The boxes either have a post card, or nutritional information and tips.

Some come with extra seasoning packets. Actually, quite a few. I really like the pizza-flavor seasoning that comes with the Meatballs W/ Marinara Sauce.

We could file this page under last generation / surplus MREs, and you could start a current one if you're willing. Do you find this valuable?

To be fair, THESE are what are hitting the surplus markets, though they are nearing their expiration dates. As a side note, they are illegal to sell to civilians so surplus shops really shouldn't have them.

I'll see if I can score a case of them when I go back to work tomorrow. I won't have to go to the chow hall for a week or so then. If I can I can start documenting what comes in modern MREs BY MEAL, as only little things change between two of the same meal.

oh ffs, can't the army keep anything the same for a few years? I didn't get out that long ago......

Anyways, it's always difficult to put together a list like this because we were trying to cover both the military and the civilian MRE's.
With that in mind, feel free to alter anything you think needs it on there. That's why this page got put on the bulletin board, because it just isn't quite finished and a few other helping hands could make it into something magnificent.

Edit- If you want to eat mre's for a week just for us, feel free but I'd rather be in the short order line getting my cheeseburger ;)

Of course they can't keep anything the same. They are already starting to integrate new ACUs! And they just changed the gear and camouflage design used for Afghanistan. Supposedly they have NEW MREs that I haven't seen yet, so I'm withholding judgment on the truthfulness of that rumor.

The chow hall here sucks. Since the other one closed, there is only one on base for now, and it sucks. It's busy as hell, the food sucks (and rarely changes), and the short order lines doesn't even have cheeseburgers! They have a separate line for that and it takes a good fifteen minute wait. Or longer. The Specialist over me suggested I get a case of MREs for work days for the carbs and calories and so I can get at least a little free time during lunch break.

I'd like to try some of the civilian counterparts, but none have really looked any good. Survival food wise, I've liked almost every Mountain House entree I've ever had. Which is quite a few of them.
I miss the Guns and Rockets cafe at Fort Sill... They had actually good food.
