The booby trap guide
Nov 26 2010, 8:28 PM EST | Post edited: Nov 26 2010, 8:28 PM EST
This is the first big article I have ever written, but it isn't complete yet. I spent the last few hours writing it and my eyes are starting to get tired. I have a LOT more information to put in it, but as of right now, I think it is a pretty good start.

I named it, "Explosive Booby Traps Or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb". If you don't get the title, then you are too young to be reading the guide.

There is a big disclaimer on the top of the page that you need to read before diving into the article, and there are many warnings posted throughout the page. I had to make it to where a 10 year old couldn't use this information effectively. There is a little bit of science involved here so the target audience is responsible adults.

Please enjoy and give me feedback as it will probably be a couple weeks until I am completely finished.

I can't wait to see what you'll be adding to this page in the future.

I'm an amateur at best when it comes to traps. Thats one of the many things that I wish I would have learned more about from my Pa Paw while he was still with us.

Everything from hunting to an alarm system could be accomplished with the proper knowledge of traps. Thanks for having the stones to start a page like this and for doing it in a responsible way. +1 from the 'rattler!

i knows a grenade trick.... with a glass jar..

also, a story from my grandmother's time:
she once ran a wire from the fuse box to a window sill to secure it against "unwelcome visitors"
lest we not forget, walter.......

nice guide alex, most of the "traps" i could fashion at the moment are either gravity driven or make use of a springy stick Do you find this valuable?

It's extremely difficult to make a guide like this in a responsible manner.

Edit: I've also had issues with chemical delay triggers. Making the trip line too taught will break your glass vial (i use thin stinkbomb glass vials) and not making it taut enough won't bust the vial. I'm trying to perfect the method and I have a few ideas but i'm going to hold off with the crude MS Paint drawings for now.

Edit #2: Chemical delay triggers work better as detonators than as a booby trap trigger. No point in a guy triggering the trap and it going off 30 seconds after he has already left the area. Guess I would only use it if I had the building wired to blow. The best trigger in my opinion is the electrical one using a cloths pin. Easy to make and the items are easiest to scavenge of all the triggers.

Alex, I am really happy you put this up. It is a very good read.

I do think you probably made it onto some kind of watch list with it though.
So don't be too bothered by that van that keeps following you. lol

Thanks, i've been on watch lists since I did a report on "The Turner Diaries" when I was in the 8th grade. Made a lot of the school staff worry about me on that one.

To avoid getting my sister on a watch-llist, I'll check this out once I get back to Ohio this Monday. I'm sure my partner will enjoy it but I'm kinda afraid of explosives. =^_^= Thanks. Do you find this valuable?

Who cares about being on a watch list anyways? In 50 years the government will be able to track us and listen to every conversation and read every email we right.

The more money and time the federal government wastes on me, the less they spend towards finding the real enemies of America. It makes me laugh that I can be found at the drop of a hat but a 7 foot Saudi that lives in a cave and ***** in a hole is still missing after almost 10 years. Maybe he should write the CIA a "wish you were here" postcard to at least give them a clue.

Personally, I think the title gives the wrong idea for the explosive mindset, but the content seems decent. Do you find this valuable?

How so? I only go over booby traps of an explosive nature.
