Look for the following

medium-high carbon steel blade, no stainless.

blade at least 2mm thick

full tang

plan on spending around 30$

yeah like i saw some cold steel ones that say high carbon steel and fulltang but not the size or weight (besides overall length and length of blade) then are like 10-15 bucks

thats why im a lil cautious about it

The cold steel ones are solid, they don't really make any bad products. Do you find this valuable?

The cold steel products will not let you down. You could clear brush and then hack a zeds head off no problem.

There are better options than going toe to toe with a zed with a machete. The most obvious being to turn around and run away.

I wouldn't trust a $10 machete. Cold steel sells them for $25 and up. Do you find this valuable?

If you try it out and for some strange reason do not like it I will be happy to take it off your hands.

if your worried about accidentally getting a POS blade, then take a look at this bastard..... http://www.coldsteel.com/gurkhakukri.html, although it might bite your wallet a wee bit..... oh look, there's john now.....

EDIT: i just took a look on their site, and it looks like all their inexpensive blades are made of 1055 carbon steel, so at least they aren't selling you any stainless until you get to the higher price ranges

No, I really shouldn't. There are over 11,000 profiles. Are you suggesting I read everything on every one? I'm not sure if you have that kind of time, but I certainly don't. I have more important things to do, like taking care of a child. If you're telling me you read the profile of every single person you come in contact with on a thread, then I'm genuinely impressed.

A simple "Mr. Jumbles is autoshopkid" was really all that was necessary to move forward amicably.

No but when someone has accused everyone of hating them it takes what idk 5 seconds, unless your cpu blows, to pull up a profile and read it. Its amazing that I can do such things with a 19 month old running around the house as well. Then again in respect to your comment I have no clue what your situation is, idk if your husband is in or out right now since he's navy, and you very well could be tackling a daunting task by yourself.

Something simple as your recommendation has failed in the past when I identified O'Doul's newest persona.

My statement was not to belittle your efforts, its simply shedding light and those who wish to confirm it could then do the same.
