Where will it all begin...

Ok...theory time!

Let's say that the Zombie Apocalypse is a viral contagion, not a supernatural "When Hell is full the dead will rise" scenario, but an actual cooked-up/mutated virus which SOMEHOW either reanimates the recently deceased or infects the living...where do you think it will begin?

Because there are plenty of muppets in white lab-coats in America, Europe, the Middle-East and Russia who could probably cook up a batch of 'Deadly Zombie Juice' which could kick start it all...but:

1) Where do you reckon the first case will be?
2)How/Why do you think it'll get out of the lab and into the population?
Do you find this valuable?

1) I could see it happening in any stereotypical lab with an accidental infection of maybe an animal that in turn bites a scientist that becomes infected, I don't know. Or maybe it could be made purposely for use as a weapon.

2) Honestly, I don't think it will. But the most plausable case I can picture is if the infection happened in a lab with no contingency plan in case of an accidental outbreak, or if the virus was used as a weapon against another country.

But I doubt that'll happen.

according to max brooks it started in china............i have no idea where it will start....probably somewhere industrialized and doing scientific experiments

We humans have a history of creating wonderful and more exotic ways to kill each other. The British actually invented Chemical Warfare and were the first people to use poison gas attacks in Eastern Europe long before WW2...so don't discount a 'Zombie Virus' being used on a population; just think about how much the Russians seem to hate the Chechens?

Personally, I can see Human Error being a major factor. Labs all over the world tend to keep some of the deadliest organisms around for testing and to make cures from, and as we know in the past agents have been used by terroists to attack urban populations...remember the Sarin attack on the Tokyo subway? Where the hell did they get that stuff? And what if the 'Zombie Virus' was just a mutated/engineered Rabies virus cross-bred with Flu for contagion enhancement like in 'Left 4 Dead'?

I personally think it'll be a First World Country where it appears first...America or England, bacause even with millions spent on security and preperations and contaiment measures, it only takes one idiot to run when he should have stayed....watch: Stephen King's The Stand for a rerally good example.

I think it will be a bioweapon that infects the living. where it will hit: whoever the guys who made it don't like. Do you find this valuable?

well if its not some kind of terrorist made virus to kill another countries human population to make us all kill eachother

i think itll be the old Super Soldier Serum theory
like the government trying to make soldiers who dont feel tired or hungry or pain in order to have a better soldier ... that old sci-fi theory sounds plausible
i mean the american government tried to do it back in the vietnam era messing with drugs like LSD and what not
so im pretty sure there could be some underwraps secret government chemists working up drugs like that some where (be it USA or somewhere else)
i mean thats what all militaries want ... better soldiers
thats what military trainings all about ... making the average civilian a faster, stronger, smarter operative
