Very interesting, but evokes Operation Miranda for one paragraph

A long-term fortification wouldn't have women simply for reproduction, as per Leonard Lake and Charles Ng, rather there would be a balanced population because the average female is better at multitasking than the average male, which would be far superior to switch-tasking, however rapid, when engaging in CQC with dozens of Zach on every side, although switch-tasking would still work for sniping.

Haven't studies actually found that multi-tasking just makes you less efficient and slower at doing the tasks than simply doing them one at a time? Moreover, why exactly would the population be balanced specifically because of this belief in the multitasking ability of women? He's saying that overall women would be more productive than men because they are able to (comparativly at least) multitask better than men allowing for multiple tasks to be done at once. But then again the Jack Of All Trades is rarely a master so being able to do more does not equate to doing it well. If you do the job very well I for one won't complain if you can't wash clothes, change babies, fix a car, and sing an aria at the same time. OP: You will not have the luxury of selection. http://www.zombiesurvivalwiki.com/wiki/zombieprep/thread/4295232/ Change+of+Group+Leadership?offset=100&maxResults=20 The reason for not having it is because you can't decide who survives a crisis or not So if all the super-handy people die you will need to make do. There's nothing wrong with being a jack of all trades. The problem comes when you try to do a bunch of **** all at the same time. It just makes you even less efficient at everything. It's much better to just do each task one at a time with full effort.

Knowing a little bit works but sometimes a little bit is not enough. Do you find this valuable? |

The other point is; it all depends on the type of people in the community, their attitudes, etc...as to what sort of role the women in that community play. If you have a pack of real sexist Rednecks, then because of their beliefs and attitudes towards women then women might end up fulfilling more 'traditional' roles inside that community for fear of being beaten or whatnot? It's like the community made up mainly of members of the K-K-K, they're not likely to be very happy having a wide diversity of skin colours? Or the biker gang who hate mexicans aren't likely to have a guy living with them named Miguel are they? So generalising and saying that communities aren't likely to have women just for reproducing but for multitasking is a pretty naive comment, because women have only been voting since like the last hundred years, but they've been considered 'The Weaker Sex' for thousands, and without a 'Court of Human Rights' to make sure they're treated fairly, a lot of women are going to be used, abused, oppressed and the like aren't they? 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Roles will be dictated by numbers for the good of the community as an entity. As for equality I see it as an illusion. No such thing. Treatment doesn't do it neither. Say what you like but I for one will be dissecting the heck out of the concept. Do you find this valuable? |
