SHTF? Zombie Animals...
Jan 6 2011, 3:34 PM EST | Post edited: Jan 6 2011, 3:34 PM EST
Well as we are all aware and keeping in touch with the hot topic of these mass animal deaths all over the world. The media is giving us a bunch of random BS excuses as to why it is happeneing... but they wont really say because it looks like a cover up to me. And believe me I am NOT the kind of person who would randomly say that.

In one week you can not tell me that birds in arkansas, birds in lousiana, birds in kentucky, fish in arkansas, fish in the maryland area, and crabs off the coast of england is all non related... I have also heard reports of mass bird deaths in brazil and new zealand

I dont know if you guys buy these stupid reasons or not or claims that it happens all the time and dont worry or any of the crap you hear on the news... but it leads to an interesting idea.

What if there are zombie animals?

Would the virus killing them be able to kill humans and or turn a human undead?

What do you guys think?

I have heard of anything birds rising so either they have a long reanimation time or they are covering it up. Sure, viruses can mutate to effect human and some animal viruses effect humans as well. I have not heard about any rioting in those area so we are safe at this time.

Don't worry yourself dude, zombies just aren't real.
...Yet....lol
However, hat doesn't mean to say that something incredibly fishy isnt going on (no pun intended).

I'd heard about 1 instance of birds and 1 of fish, would you be able to provide links to the others please? It sounds quite interesting.

Zombie birds would just piss me off. Res Evil:Extinction, much?

Pfft, zombie elephants and full speed cheetahs escaped from zoos or on the African plain would suck more! And forget them crows, imagine a zombie golden eagle or peregrine falcon? Zombie Eagle could carry off your baby and toddlers. Excluding ResEv, all the other authors eliminated animals from the mix because it would be even more chaotic. Check out some of the youtube video of Golden Eagles taking on larger game.

Like goats. They throw them off mountains(not making this up). So it will comedown to golden eagle vs. bald eagle whilst the turkey gets all p!ssy off to the side for not being america's favorite bird but rather america's favorite meal.

Videos on youtube of hunting eagles are badass, i urge people to check them out.

I think zombie pets would be a big problem. There's too many dogs!
My brothers rottweiler's a c*nt anyway, so I don't know if it would change much if it were a zombie.
Turkeys are just gay.

Zombie animals now? Not a snowballs chance in hell.

The virus, in my version of "zombie virus" theory, gives the infected an unquenchable desire for flesh, therefore, it's quite possible that infected persons will also go after animals.

If this is true, that animals could be turned into zeds, most pet owners like myself would have a decision to make: keep the pet, or kill it. In my case, where the pet would be more of a burden than a resource, it would have to be killed. My pet is a labrador retriever, but despite his age, he has the mind of a pup. Always playful as he is, he wouldn't make a good guard/hunting dog. Plus, we keep him on a chain outside (which would make him a target on z-day), but he gets off of it a lot. And what does he do when he gets off? He runs around the neighborhood markin his territory everywhere. When he sees another dog, he goes wild. Him and I both would be better off (in a ZOMPAC) with him skinned, gutted, and cooked. I do love that dog, but I'm neither going to let him be turned, nor will I have to deal with a big pup when I Bug Out. I know that saying that may offend some people, but try to see it from my perspective.

ah but what if its not a virus, but infact the parasite toxoplasmosis. which can make a rodent lose its fear of cats (in which the parasite dwells). if mutated can cause some major damage.

mate have even read the zombie survival guide by max brooks it is impossible there brains die before solanums virus causes the brain grows a tumor like organ which gives them an undying hunger for human flesh. they dont need any of the basic needs for survival examples no need for oxygen no need for water or sustence of any kind which is why they can survive for years in the dessert , under water , ect ect. the natural human brain takes several hours to actual die electrical signals are still moving around your nervous system it only takes three hours for the tumor like organ to grow were as an animals brain dies after about 2 hrs at the most so the oragan dosent grow to maturaty and willl die. so maybe the virius is in them may be a hunter ate the bird wich also means the hunter ate the virius died reanimated and tried to kill another hunter or someone with a gun they called the police and the goverment covered it up Do you find this valuable?

yeah i see where your coming from but if did want him to keep him you need to train him the best way to do this if there an old dog is to reward him when he does good by letting him in the house at night or playing with him for a while and when he does the wrong thing lock him out side and pay no attention to him then as he get more disciplined train him to hunt star of with small rodents and teach him as you bring bigger animals in that if they look not natural do not attack run or he may digest infected meat and die (animals will not i repeat WILL NOT turn ) Do you find this valuable?

Actually, all of the explanations for the deaths are pretty damn plausible. Mass animal deaths have happened for centuries. We haven't been having an apocalypse a day. It's just that 2012 is on its way and when one person senses something they think is "off" (whether or not it actually is), everyone jumps on anything similar. Suddenly every cough is a sign of the apocalypse.

Keep in mind, the media likes to play on people's fears, whether or not they're valid. They'll jump on any dead animals now because they know that it gets them more viewers.
