Nomads?
Jan 10 2011, 11:04 PM EST
I'm just asking what is your thoughts on someone being a nomadic trader/mercenary of sorts? because eventually after I'm ready and got the stuff ill need 'I'm planning on leaving the city and becoming a trader just me and my dog, and eventually if i decide to and I'm tired of all the excitement of being a nomad ill settle down and make a small farm so what do you think about that kinda of plan based on your personnel opinions?
Do you find this valuable?

That being said I would much rather get to my BOL and settle in and attempt to keep a small farm up and running. I am ok with being a nomad but only after all my other plans have hit the bricks. The fact that since it will be just you in your dog you won't have much to trade. You'll have to come up with a trade route of sorts, oh and have fun approaching some settlements and keep it mildly irregular unless you want someone killing you for your things. Oh and then their is the potential for just running into the wrong place at the wrong time. Other than that I'm sure there are dozens of other tid bits I'm forgetting. Wait I take it back on the whole it sounds good idea thing... Edit: Also redcom, you plan on using a homemade spear and sling? Do you find this valuable? |

"I'm going to use the sling for hunting small game, and short spear for fighting other people, the spear handle will only be 3 feet long and the blade only 1 foot so that's not all that long it will look something like the Zulu Iklwa Do you find this valuable? |

"im going to train in how to use it before i go all Nomadic isn't that obvious?"No, it really isn't having something and being able to use something are two different leagues playing on the same day. So I guess your training with it now then? Do you find this valuable? |

It ain't easy. Hunting small targets = even harder. Hunting small targets that are mobile = better have a lot of stones and Slight of Hand Pro on. Do you find this valuable? |

"Did they only use small spears? I thought they threw as well. Oh well I've been wrong before lol."Well the facts on what the Zulu used I got were from deadliest warrior, so my thoughts could very well be over-charged with testosterone, illogical, and sponsored by 5 hour energy. the Zulu primarily had spear men armed with short spears and big shields organized into ''regiments'' they were actually surprisingly organized even by today's standards. well for a bunch of tribesmen who could barely read and write

just wana point out"and I'm tired of all the excitement of being a nomad " no that wouldnt be a fun life at all especially alone yeah i know a bond with a man and his dog is strong and loving but your still ALONE and basically living day by day on the HOPES that youll find some place relatively safe to sleep and barely scrounge upon some food that was mistakenly left behind and then probably robbed and or killed for any goods you carry since it will be a cut throat world for many since when "**** gets real" a great majority of people only care about themselves and their family and in an apoc ... honesty and good intentions will slowly become harder and harder to come by sad but true thats why im glad i know of atleast 1 person i could rely on giving this lil 'ole zpoc orphan a home [friendly nod to my buddy you know who you are] Do you find this valuable? |

"just wana point outIs that not exciting to you it sounds exciting to me? living on the brink of existence, long walks from dawn to dusk, having the sky as my blanket and the earth as my bed with nothing but the wind itself to guide me through my Fate. Now to me that is kinda exciting i kinda anticipate it now after talking about it. 3 out of 5 found this valuable. Do you? |
