So what you are saying is that this test is going to tell me where I am going to be when the outbreak happens, what kind of resources I am going to have at my disposal and the kind of people I will have to help me out?No, it is not and whether I survive has a lot to do with those things and how I react to each. So in saying that you can take you pay to see 10 questions, roll them up really tight and .... ah.... Make them disappear. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Ok, I think it's time for me to set to score straight. This isn't some stupid little 10 point quiz you can take on the internet... this is the SAT of zombie survival test. 130 page book with over 300 different questions totaling 1230 points with different types of questions like Fact Based Multiple Choice, Situational Multiple Choice, Situational Illustration Multiple Choice, True and False, and a Personal Evaluations. And I don't understand to purpose of "jdi35" post? You can go online and read tons of survival tips about a zombie outbreak, but a million people still went out and paid money for Max Brooks, Zombie Survival Guide. Also, I happen to be the author of this book and ThinkGeek.com happen to think that this test was awesome and bought several hundred copies right off the bat. Look for it in weeks to come. Any more question?

my apologies, the first post was to satisfy mr. jumbles "chewing out"sorry, i just don't see it. there are many other tests much like this one and just as comprehensive that deal with the same thing, surviving adverse conditions. the ZSG was created to teach( as well as entertain) people about certain techniques and behaviors that can help them in such a time. your test however, is just that, an assessment on previously accumulated knowledge. it does not add anything in terms of knowledge or technique, all it does is determine your POSSIBLE odds of survival, i say "possible" since random chance can blow even the best plans out of the water. now having said all that, it is an interesting premise to see where you stand on certain aspects of survival and where you can improve. as much as i hate to admit it, it'll probably sell well cause people as a whole are always looking to get some sort of knowledge them will give them a leg up on others. btw, if you already got permission, then its a moot point, but its against the rules to post ads telling people to buy a product your selling. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Okay, time to set the record straight.Zombies are not real. The Zombie Survival Guide was written as a humor book, not a good survival guide. Someone relying on the ZSG for survival would not survive long. ThinkGeek sells your book because it's funny, like a MASSIVE amount of their stuff. On the other hand, this site is based around surviving any disaster in general. Zombies are a worst-case scenario that could possibly happen with a scientific reason. Not necessarily going to happen, but they could. But this site is meant to prepare for any disaster that would severely damage infrastructure enough to require bugging out to a secure location. That is the difference. The ZSG is humor. This is not. That is the difference between reading online about survival tips and spending money on a book meant to tell you that you'd survive; if you need a book to tell you that you'd survive the zombie apocalypse, let alone one you have to PAY for, you are not someone who has a good chance of surviving anyway. Not to mention that we don't usually appreciate ads here. End of story, let the mods take care of it from here. 2 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

Sorry it took so long guys. cbassett, there was no need to clarify the point that you're the author of the book, that was made obvious by the fact that you joined the site and the very first thing you did was post a link to it. We get that sort of thing all the time. I'm going to lock this, but if you're interested in being an actual contributing member of our site, you're more than welcome to. Locked. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |
