survival plan
Jan 13 2011, 1:27 PM EST
in the event of an attack i would probably get out of my home asap as the doors are glass and the windows are large. My first move would be to move to high ground and make ground visits only when needed most. When making ground assaults i would cover myself in zombie guts as zombies tell undead from alive through smell and would ignore me although I'm f**ked if it starts raining. after a while i would try to find more survivors and form a colony. this thread is open to any suggestions or criticism 0 out of 4 found this valuable. "in the event of an attack i would probably get out of my home asap as the doors are glass and the windows are large. My first move would be to move to high ground and make ground visits only when needed most.Just want to point out: there's no way of knowing how zombies tell humans from other undead. Also, I'll be blunt; this isn't really a "plan." You need to figure out how you would get supplies, where you would go, how you would deal with threats, etc. Edit: Welcome to the site, though. I'd suggest reading some of the other members' plans. Do you find this valuable? |

What do you mean move to high ground? Where exactly would you go? Covering yourself with zombie entrails worked on TV, but most people don't actually have the stomach for it. Not to mention, there's no way of knowing that zombies will use smell to tell dead from alive. We'll just have to wait and see. Ground assaults? I won't even go there. Do you find this valuable? |

I'd like to see you cover yourself in the entrails of anything and not vomit uncontrollably from the smell.

I'm not even sure an assault means covering yourself to hide from the enemy ._.But what do I know. Do you find this valuable? |

"i would cover myself in zombie guts"... That's all fine and dandy, but there's a HUGE risk of blood making contact with any number of your orifices.

You're wrong. On the Zombie Survival Guide,Max Brooks said zombies use their five(or six) senses equally.Zombies can tell that you are a human because a human's movements are smooth and fast, they can also tell by smelling your body chemicals. Also, you'll be turned into a zombie as direct contact with the body fluid of zombies will infect you.It would also be best to stayed at home for the first few days and then head out because of mass chaos outside. You should be OK as the virus isn't airbourne. You should also steer clear of certain survivors if they are thuggish or selfish. These information are backed by years of research and a 200 page book written by Dr Jan Vanderhaven who studied zombies.I hope you find this useful, and I want to see if you can prove me wrong.

The ZSG is a humor book; nothing in the "recorded attacks" is true. The virus he mentions, Solanum, is actually an enzyme in plants. There's no way to accurately surmise about something that doesn't exist. Edit: For the record, I've read the book too. But, it ain't a zombie Bible, so don't assume that I'm wrong just 'cause Mel Brooks' son said otherwise. 1 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

...thread locked. It has all the classical signs of a human turning into an undead troll session. I'll unlock it if someone has a good reason (which I heavily doubt.) Do you find this valuable? |

as far as zombies ability to discern humans from zombies, i would actually consider it more of a sixth sense.i mean, first of all, humans are known in the animal kingdom for standing out by their dependence on sight. most animals prefer sound or smell, but humans are unusually sight based, that is why optical illusions work on us, is the lack of reliability of sight, conflicting with the brain. this being the case, i think zombies would be significantly less sight based, thus making their other senses (compared to humans) much more accurate therefore, they could tell humans apart by smell, but also the way we sound. i believe somebody pointed out that just the way humans move would give them away and i would agree with that as well a zombies movements are going to be far less smooth, more erratic, and almost random at points. which is something that would make a very clear distinction, as well as be very difficult to mimic Do you find this valuable? |
