Eternal Soup
Jan 17 2011, 2:09 PM EST
An old commune i have links to beleives in the Eternal Soup as the answer to any nutritional. It's one massive caldroun, over a fire. Everything is put in it, supplimented with grass, barks and so on. The result may nmot be particaularly intresting, adn will get old after a week ro two, but its one fo the best ways to keep a large group of people alive for a long time. Nettles are great for the soup, and more or less anything you find in terms of vegtables or dried foods can be thrown in. Dried apricots in a nettle and stock cube soup is supresisnly nice, and nothing beats the feeling of a hot bowl of soup. The amount of water can be varied depending on the scaricity of food

This sounds like a freezer soup that tightwads concoct. Basically anything edible can be thrown in, and sometimes the result tastes good, and sometimes it's revolting, but it's food. Also known as "Stone Soup." 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

Oh interesting. =^_^= Yeah, speaking of hemlock Mr. Vance, i think it a little too close to the look of wild carrot for my liking, so I'd be kinda worried that someone might accidentally throw some in there. I also find soups to be kinda low in nutrition. If given a fire I think I would rather stir-fry =^_^= But this is pretty interesting. I love not making the same dish twice by simply varrying the ingredients drastically... The more I think about this stone soup bit the more I like the idea. =^_^= Just for fun I have to try this, the chaotic nature of throwing in whatever is just too appealing to me. =^_^= Do you find this valuable? |

Trust me, eternal soup gets very very boring. It isnt based on taste, adn the mix si either to weak, or they cover up bad tasrte with somthing. Nettle in enough quantities, dull out pretty much all flavour. The idea is to keep alive, and it's efficient. They've learnt what works better than I have, and theirs isnt half bad, considering they've got their foraging routes mapped out, and a small garden. Rabbit is aparently very good with nettles and chestnut in the soup Do you find this valuable? |
