I believe that:1)I would organize with my closest friends and family, and use old family farmland for an arable fortress 2)That generosity can breed both friendship, peace and dependence 3)That cruelty and greed breed contempt and security So you have to get a balance.I believe that uncalled for and plain wrong/sadist violence is unecessary, but self defense or desprate foraging are valid reasons for initiating or reacting to a situation with violence.Negotiation and diplomacy can be used to,but tread carefully.....after Z day nobody can be trusted. I also believe in an egalatarian society, where resources are shared equally but are sought after to improve everyones standard of living. Do you find this valuable?

The only way for small units to survive is with a military like structure. A leader, and panel of officers with various skills. ie communications, medical, engineering, weapons, transportation, etc. Everyone has an assigned task. Orders are followed, NOT debated. Anyone that does not wish to be a part of the group, or does not follow orders, is free to leave. Simply put, you want to eat, you have to contribute. While negotiations and trade with other groups is best, there is zero tolerance for raiders and theives (a few heads on posts at the perimeter or a few people hung like the market place on Jericho) should get the point across. Violence is the supreme athourity, from which all laws flow. Examples, the policeman on the beat, carries a ticket book, and a pistol. Even most religions preach a god that will destroy those that do not obey. Militia and small arms training is required for everyone . A few light tanks is a big plus.
