Starting groups on FB or Yahoo.

I have started my own group with family and friends of like mind to plan for our inevitable outcome on Facebook since everyone is on it these days. I didn't think they would take it as serious as I but when I woke up this morning there were already discussions and pictures posted. I was surprised and it made me think I should share the idea with ZSDW. I used the Search Box and did not find a thread with this topic so I felt it safe to start one. The group I started I believe will help to coordinate meetings and ideas with people that are not on the ZSDW. So, let em hear your thoughts and suggestions and I hope it helps with anyone elses planning.

The idea of a ZSDW group on Facebook is cool, but there's a problem I see with it.Many people on here don'tmwant THAT much of their personal viewable. I mean, you can get someone's address, phone number, work hours, etc. from Facebook. While I doubt anyone on here would do anything bad, it's just that the survivalist nature makes it difficult. I don't mean to sound like I'm dissuading you. By all means, make a ZSDW group. I just can't say for sure whether or not it'll be a hit. Good luck :) Do you find this valuable? |

I think the facebook group is a good idea to make your family and friends aware of a potential disaster situation. You can coordinate what you plan to do in the event of such a disaster. Rather than trying to hunt down your family and friends, everyone can post what they are going to be doing, where they are going to be going, and so on come shtf.I wouldn't involve members of the zsdw in it, unless they were geographically close and well trusted. Besides, one should be working and planning with those who are near and dear, because that is who we will be surviving with on z-day, not someone that lives 1000 miles away and goes by "dEATh_2_aLL_ZAMbIES666". I did say in my original post that it was friends and family only. I wouldn't consider letting anyone from ZSDW know your personal info since trolls love our wiki. I have already gotten friends that did not know eachother until last night agreeing on ideas and suggestions so it is a great ice breaker in that means. I think it is an excellent way to organize outside of wiki with your own personal group. Agreed?
