Kitanica gear
Feb 1 2011, 2:12 AM EST
Has anyone ever taken a look at the kitanica website? I just got a pair of their pants and they seem like the perfect zombie pants. Reinforced knees and but, 9 pockets and built in molle slots on the side. All their stiff is made of high durability cordura and made to last a long time. They also got some coats that look even better. Lots of pockets and 1000 denier cordura. There's even a military version of it that has a padded butt pad on the shoulder for recoil. I was surprised no one has mentioned them at all.

You know why?HOLY ******* FLYING MONKEYBALLS ******** COCAINE ARE THEY EXPENSIVE. I rip on 5.11 gear being expensive, but they're nowhere NEAR as expensive as their stuff. You can get plenty of other gear and STILL some more ammo for the cost of one of their jackets. I got a similar pair of shorts to the XIAs for $30! Their gear isn't even worth it with the discount. It's still a $150 pair of pants and a $600 jacket. Do you find this valuable? |

That's something that I think is funny about our hobby. People want the "best" and newest, as if it (our gear) will increase our individual chances of survival, all on it's own. While having adequate gear, protective apparel, first aid supplies and food stocks are important, they only represent one leg on this tripod...If you save some money on gear and buy no more than you need to thrive, that's money that you can spend with your family doing fun stuff, or more you can put towards bottled water and food stockpiles, or just having a little bit extra for that vacation you always wanted to take but never could afford. That's a lot of the reason why I don't spend big bucks on guns - I have other priorities. Well, that, and I'm broke! I bet that Kitanica gear rules, but it's certainly not going to make an appreciable difference in my ability to survive in a sh!tty situation, and I'd rather spend the remainder on meaningful purchases. i"ll agree on it being really dumbly expensive. My strategy was to ask for it as a present for Christmas. So i had to spend a lot on my girlfriend anyways, so she got me those pants. Works out good and i dont have to feel like i spent way to much on pants.

I wouldn't WEAR pants that cost that much. I'd lock them up to sell later.

Expensive and you have to pay for the hemming of the pants! I wonder if anyone has actually had their hands on a pair of these or the jacket? I agree they make 5.11 seem like a bargin! Do you find this valuable? |

I'll put my Filson pants up against them any day of the week. Heavy waxed canvas, extremely well made and simply won't wear out. I have a pair that I hunted hard in for years and it's still fine.......Plus new they are like $20 or 30 cheaper then these Kitanica pants
