My Survival "Plan"

I just came up with this "plan" the other day, I think it is much better than my original, horrible plan. So anywho lets just jump right on into this disaster.So, I live in a small 2 bedroom apartment on the outskirts of my little town. (About a population of 5,800) My roomate has been my best friend for 14 years now which means I can trust him, okay okay, now I will get into my plan. So, I already have a BOB all made up (I will be making a post of its contents at a later time) And so does my partner. My plan is rather simple, grab the BOBs and make our way to the BOL, thankfully since we live on the edge of town we'll be able to make it out rather quickly. Now then, our BOL is his cabin out in the middle of nowhere, and by nowhere i mean in the middle of the woods with the closet town being a small (about 600 population) which is 10 miles away. Right behind the cabin is a freshwater spring where we will be able to get our water and there is also a rather large garden where we can grow our vegetables. There is already a large stock of canned goods at the cabin and guns and ammo, thats where we stay when we go on our hunting trips. As for the wild life in the area there are squirrels, rabbits, deer which we will hunt and it seems with every year there are more and more of them. And i figure we could just live out our life there living off of the land. -Skills- I myself have been shooting guns for roughly 6 years now, I'm not trying to say I am a god with a gun but I am a pretty decent shot. I easily adapt to new situations when things don't go according to plan which could prove handy I have been hunting since i was a kid and I have experience with setting traps, fire-starting, making make-shift shelters As for my partner, he has been working on a farm all his life, so he knows about planting and managing crops. More to come about plan B and other options Do you find this valuable?

How quickly you two respond could place you in trouble. Though you live on the outside of town, you could face traffic if you were to respond late. Since there are two of you, it might be harder to get gathered together and then get out. It might not be trouble at all, you know your situation best. I guess just imagine rush hour (if there is a rush hour) on the roads you would take.I would consider driving separately, which would get each of you there individually. Aside from that, I'd say you are pretty blessed to have such a nice, out of the way place in mind. (EDIT: More than "in mind") I'm sure someone else could have something to say, but it sounds like you've thought it out pretty well. Do you have seeds for planting at the cabin already? Do you find this valuable? |

Thankfully The roads to get there are all backroads and my apartment is isn't located near the major exits from my town, and yes, they have a stock of seeds already there ^.^ But im always thinking about the worse case scenario and as I stated I just thought of this and im still picking it down to the bone of what all could go wrong

if it gets down through plan c and d all the way down to plan q may i suggest head off to another site like Mendon, MI for example? i do believe that all these small groups will increase the odds a person will survive, however for civilization to continue we need to group up on a large scale. Do you find this valuable? |
