That is a pretty good list I might add a sewing kit (also good for ad hoc sutures). Also, why a cheapo fixed knife instead of a good quality one? I actually traded out my machette for a similar size/style Kuri knife. You might also consider 1 MRE. Even if it is out of date, There is some contents that remain good:TP, matches, etc. and even spoiled, the food can be used to bait a trap. Weigh your final kit. Keep in mind, the more you carry, the slower you go. Good luck 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I don't live near any good knife shops, so I just can't go out and get one during my free time. I actually bought a KA-BAR, but my dad took it temporarily. I know right where it is, though.

I've been trying to get a sewing kit together as well. It's on my list.

I'm trying to just stock up on high-protein foods like nuts and good filler foods. MREs I would have to order online, which would be another clusterf**k that I really don't need in my life right now.

My kit is around 15 pounds, 20 with water. Probably 23 or so with the ammo I plan on packing. So not too bad.

damn good loadout there. better than what i have by a long shot (im in england, firearms laws here are a *****), however i would personally go with something with slightly longer reach for melee eg a machete or hatchet. that said due to the aforementioned firearms laws ,my primary ranged is a technically illegal .22 air-rifle ( springpowered, i "upgraded" the spring for more punch), my weapons are melee oriented, as is my basic armor(leather biker jacket, hardest wearing jeans i own and riot gear armor for my limbs). all in all a bloody good set there, almost identical to my own.

PS i wouldnt recommend melee unless utterly nessacery, or if like me you are 6'2", fairly strong and have had a degree of training. BTW im 18
