Training the essential part to living
Feb 21 2011, 8:55 AM EST | Post edited: Feb 21 2011, 8:55 AM EST
when the infection hits you must be in tip top physical condition if you want to live. Even if zombies move slow youknow there is gonna be some wacko who kills everyone he sees becuase he doesnt trust anyone. So i advise you to start a running plan to strengthen your heart. at least 3 miles a day. then gradually work up to 5. also try doing speedworks to be able to run faster for longer ( you can goggle speedwork outs). Also you must be doing strength training upperbody and lower dont just do squats and bench. You have to mix it up curls leg extensions military press pullups dip. Try to focus on using body weight. Now that you have that info add your own little spice to it but you have to stick wth it if you want to live. 0  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

Whilst I agree with excercise, i think doing it in preparation for the zombie apocalypse is a very strange motive. I also noticed you use "when" at the start.
Are you expecting a zombie apocalypse? If so, i'm interested in the possible reasons/justification/evidence please.

Mheheheh, yeah I don't really believe in zombies, but I must say, when the human brain is rushed with endorphines and starved of oxygen, it will gladly believe that it is exerting its body for any reason =^_^=

I personally like to use the zombie apocalypse motivation/goal when running just for fun. And I myself use phrases like "when the zombies come" all the time. =^_^=

But yeah, I figure that running would be good for evading zombies. You're not going to be running away from a zombie, sure, but you will have to run to make use of gaps that would be closing in the spread out group in front of you. So being able to jog a distance and quickly recover stamina without being fatigued the next day would probably be useful in exploiting openings in groups. =^_^= Use fences, hills and corners to lose the attention you would attract.

i dont think a zombie apocalypse will hit any time soon. But when i run i like to say that in my head "when they come you gotta be ready". Working out make you feel better and look better. Do you find this valuable?

I think just trying to maintain a level of fitness is just plain smart. You are only giving yourself a healthy lifestyle. Zombies or not, if any type of apoc ever occurs I want to survive.

Training is just part of preparation....

Yes indeedy.

You can't run without eating.
You can't eat without food.
You can't have food without preparing to have food.
Thus:

No food = no eating = no running = you are food.

And then, as you're being eaten, you'll be all, "Crap, I did all that running for nothing."

Mhehehhehe, Poland, that's one of the reasons why I actually take food storage seriously =^_^= I know I can't go long without eating. I've way too little body fat for that one. I even carry some high Cal foods in my truck for the just in case.

One of the first things I'd likely do once I hear that the S was flying towards the fan is try to eat a lot of high fat, high carb foods so I can get a bit of a fat layer, seeing as how I'm dangerously low right now. =^_^;;=

Part of the internet mentality. People who know things are given kudos. New people want to show they have value, so try and show they know things too. Problem is if they don't know anything new, it comes off as try-hard.

Really, I want to see new information. Got a better running technique to improve stamina or speed? Got any way to keep demotivated people interested?

It all depends on the person. I find it better to get fit through playing sports, as to track runinng.

Others are motivated by their mates i.e. running as a group therefore the temptation to chin it off is less since people are waiting on you.

And ofcourse there's just the erge of competition - to beat your mates.

Look now kiddies, and you will see how a, what used to be, useless thread has now been effectively converted into something that we can at least discuss.

Sure, it's not A-list material, but we're moving somewhere good.

Oh really!?!? =^___^= I don't have a stamina or speed enhancing technique but I have a running style for post-z-day. I should totally make a thread on "how to run from zombies" =^_^= Do you find this valuable?
