Walmart...
Mar 8 2011, 7:45 AM EST | Post edited: Mar 8 2011, 7:45 AM EST
My friends and i have decided to work our way from walmart, to walmart across the state, leaving only when food, and suplies run out. Since most wlamrts are right next to Lowes, it wouldent bee a prblem to get wood, and tools to board up the doors. plus walmart has virtualy no windows, and only doors. After we clear the walmart of any zombies, it would be the perfect stronghold until suplies run out. 0  out of 3 found this valuable. Do you?

walmart is gonna be raided by every living person and once they get in, the infected will too. We used roleplaying games to test out our evac and base ideas, one out of about 40 have survived day 2... 5  out of 5 found this valuable. Do you?

I love it... now this is thinking.

Seriously, I did this about 3 years ago... using the local walmart, the genreal poulation of the county, and a 10% survivor rate. The well organized group we created expended 30,000 rounds, killed 250 raiders, 10,000 zeds and died of starvation in 3 months.

I have literally never, ever seen a Walmart near a Lowes. And the Walmart near me is all glass for the front doors. Please do read "The Panic", just search for it.

You've got to be kidding. When you get there you realize it's going to be cleaned out by raider, civies, anybody that wants to survive. Not to mention how many undead will be there. I mean it's friggin Walmart. Now if you wait it out for a few months, maybe a year, then send a SMALL scout team to see its current state; that might could work for a few cans of food someone might have missed but hunkering down for a long stay would be near suicide.

Must be from thd south like me. Every lowes in my region is within a stones throw of a wal-mart... even tho I can contest to this fact there is no way in hell I would try to fortify a wal-mart or even atempt to get close to one within the first few months of ZDay. 2  out of 3 found this valuable. I am planning on bugging in for the first week or two during the intial outbreak, and if conditions are good enough to stay, I'd never go near walmart for a damn long time, if at all. That's saying something since I can do a quick ten minute jog from my house or a quick drive to the Walmart near my house and back. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Walmart is not just a southern disease, it is a global disease and spreading. Of course, I will not tell my sister this since she has been with company since she was a college intern and working in the back office. Do you find this valuable?

Please explain what people are meant to do?

Open a new thread then get told to use search bar 1st

or

use search bar find a thread that is of interest to them and reply to it then have people complaining of Necropost

it seems what what ever you do there is always going to be some problem with it

Same here no forum is safe from it

its kind of off putting to people to share anything if the post is more then a week old and the problem is that a new member or a returning member may have some useful information to share but wont post it because they don't want to get trolled or flamed

I'm cool with a good necro as long as the thread is worth it. Walmart is a bad idea and at least the newer members who posted recognize that. There are tons of Walmart threads on here though...

If DLOW checks the thread again I would love for some clarification of the parameters on his survival scenario. PM me. Meanwhile is anyone against a lock? Due to the sheer volume of Walmart threads and the fact that not much more needs to be said besides...READ THE PANIC!!!

i have no problem with it being Lock its not a really hot topic thread with many posts feeding information into the topic that cant be found else where.

it good to see where you stand on replying to an old post as there were some i had an interest in and information to share but never replied to

If its solid info and a good thread then rez it by all means. You might even get a compliment out of it.
